Ok, iv'e put my dummy back in and stopped sulking. Didn't have a good time last night, only had three runs, none of them any good. suffered from bad axil tramp, so i'll have to replace the subframe bushes this week before heading back. AK (Ali) aquitted himself well for his first time with a solid 13.2 run, couldn't get the grin off his face. WSID was it's usual over crowded self, throw in a couple massive oil downs and three runs was all you were going to get. Plenty of Zed support there with Caz,Jorge,Ross, Oni,Yeti,Ringin, looking on. And to top off my bad night, they give me a time slip for my race with my number, my lane, my opposition, saying i run a 11.669 et, but i know it wasn't that quick Couple pics, more here. http://www.badgerphotography.com.au/SM 070801/index_10.htm
Bad luck Wiz. What did you have the rear D2's set to? I had heaps of axle tramp when my Tein Flex were set to soft as I was advised to do but since then I run them about 90% Hard and no axle tramp.
Bummer Wiz but hey it looked fast! And well done to Ali. Just remember next time you don't actually launch from a mid completed donut! Cheers
Don't worry too much Wiz, there's always next week. Still, next time, turn off the doof doof ,that aerial and those subs have gota slow you down.
I got to WSID at 6:30 pm and didnt get my first run until something like 9pm which was really disappointing. I gathered as much info as i could to find out how the whole thing works and got to watch a few races too. Finally it was my turn and i done a standing still burnout (for the first time in my life) which looked pretty good on video and than rocked up to the line. I then realised i went to foward and had to reverse to the proper line lol The light went Green and i let the clutch go and i started spinning the 20"s, so i back completly off and than slammed the gas pedal again which got me a slow 60' foot time. I also got over excited and shifted from 2nd to 3rd at 5000rpm but still managed to run a 13.2sec pass at 111 mph. Given the fact that i stuffed the launch up and lost time i was still quite happy with the pass given it was the first time i had ever been to a drag strip. My second run i did everything right and my launch was better but than i missed thrid gear when flat shifting and then decided to skip 3rd and went straight into 4th lol. I still managed a 13.6 sec and the car was feeling awesome. My final run of the night was with a v8 and i rocked up to the line and overshot it so i put the car in reverse and as im reversing the light went green so i just took it easy down the quater mile and ran a 27sec pass lol with a 10 sec - 60ft time haha All in all it was a fun night and i think if i didnt miss 3rd and got a better launch i could easily run a mid to low 12 sec pass, even with the 20's. Thanks to all the zedders out there for the support  Thanks Caz for the helmet and Wizard better luck next time and nice 11.6 sec pass lol you deserved it http://www.badgerphotography.com.au/SM%20070801/pages/010807521.htm http://www.badgerphotography.com.au/SM%20070801/pages/010807340.htm
Suspension JT Springs are hard, damping was set at soft, will adjust for next week, also will change the bushes, can only help. No doof doof Ports, aerial is supposed to stay down, must have been what was holding me back.
Bad Luck Ron, next week, next week all will change im sure and well AK, great time. Hope to head out for a geezer next week.
Time slip 11.669 ET Hey Karl thats the time slip they gave me after my second run, my car# T113,my lane, car next to me was #T114. Time didn't correspond with what flashed up on the board Though. felt like a quick run, apart from the axil tramp at the start and as much as i would like to claim it i don't think it was an 11 sec run, so i won't be putting it up for inclusion in the drag list. time slip, sorry for the faint print.
wizard went tramping alright I saw wizard's second run from behind in the pit/line up area. You could really see the rear of the car and wheels shuddering as he left the line and till about 10 car-lengths out. I thought weird because when he did his burnout the car barely squatted or moved sideways at all, looked very stable. Wiz, there were these blue annodised discs on ebay branded D project I think, they bolt & slide into the diff cradle mounts to stiffen things up. Maybe a cheap way to get around the problem?
Ali your car was a crowd pleaser We were in the stands when you did your run. The local fiends loved the monster FMIC without any front bar and the blow-off noises as you changed gears down the strip. Good time too.
picked up a set Of these for the sub frame. also got a polyurethane energy suspension kit for the differential. now iv'e just got to fit them, need some hoist time. hopefully this will fix the problem.
cool will be interesting I hope tomorrow is cold and dry for you like last Wednesday was. I cant make it this time (8th aug) but am keen to have a go myself sometime in the near future. Looks like a lot of fun.
Pulled the pin For now untill i get the kit fitted. Yep it's a lot of fun, you will enjoy yourself.
