Had a good night at the strip tonight with Caz, Cookie, Slide the 300, Asher and Myself in attendance. Strapped on a set of M/T Drag tires with alot of help from Caz who got me a set at very short notice. Only managed 4 runs tonight as again there was heaps of entrants. I have to say these tires are AMAZING! It took me until my last run to get the hang of them but the last one was great. With the tires nicely warmed up I launched with an extra 1000rpm than on the previous runs and cut a 1.715 60ft! The time was a 12.797 at 109.65MPH which is about 4MPH slower than last week for some reason. I was running a little bit less boost but I think it may be due to the fact that the ET's have a larger rolling diameter in effect making the gearing slightly taller. Definately still room for improvement with more practice. Slide the 300 ran a super quick 12.8 on street tires and Cookie also did well on his first time at the strip, not sure what time he ended up with. It was a top night with a good result! Im glad the MT's performed for you JT Was good to meet Cookie, its nice to be able to put a face to a forum nic and Slide you have one of the sweetest Zeds I have come across! She just does everything right (quite unzedlike...but i won't jinx you ) And its not very often Im anywhere Zed related without Asher You're top company kid

Top effort JT that 60' time rocks. It's great to see Zed 1/4 mile times are starting to represent their true muscle car qualities and hitting times that only GTR's are expected to run. I'm definately going next week, unless of course something else decides to break!
Way to go JT Would kill for a 60' that good, MPH is down because your not out there as long, quicker ET is not letting you build up the speed. What size tyres and how much pressure were you running.
yeah drag racing is mad fun! my first run was my fastest. 15.3 with a 2.4 60 ft. didn't launch or burnout cause it was my very first run ever. times got slower after that although my 60ft's got better, my best being 2.199. i was struggling to grab 3rd gear in alot of my runs, was taking me a couple of goes to get it into gear each time and i accidentally grabbed 5th on one attempt (oops). i will definately be going back. got the bug now
Tyres are 255/50/16 on stock Z32 rims that I bought from a wrecker yesterday. I put my 17" wheels than I normally use next to them (255/40/17) and they were about 50mm smaller in diameter than the M/T's. The instructions I was given was to start at 20psi and then drop them to 18 and then 16psi but I just left them at 20psi. It seems that all I needed to fix my axle tramping problems was some decent drag tires.
Annoyed that i missed it, but i was at work till 9 oclock so it really wasnt any chance of me getting there as it is at least an hour and 1 half drive to get there, sounds like it was a good night, hopefully be there for the next one
Not Bad JT nice 60f foot and not bad ET although not as good as the old bloke in bling silver auto Zed.
Thanks Caz, you guys are legends i had a great night meeting up with ya'll. i also got a 1.90 60ft on my 12.8 run with my 19/235/35s. my first run i fishtailed through 3rd and 4th gear and over the finish line, mad fun . JT i can't wait to see what you'll do when your boost is sorted, should be flyin!
