For those of you who seen the thread I posted about my zed been hit by a taxi. And those of you had said it would be written off you were right.I paid got out and now i'm buying a VX holden commodore .So if anyone would like to go the auction in Townsville(not sure when or where)and bid for my car,I would rather a fellow zedder buys it ranther than some muppet of the street. It was all back end damage, motor, gearbox, turbos and everything else works fine. Thanks for letting me part of your zed community. And I would like to thank Karl (90TT) for all his help and Shaz as well and all the other zedders I have met.
sorry to hear mate. it doesn't take much to write off a zed these days. wizard only had a borked rear bumper and centre panel and his insurance wanted to write it off
Yea when they told me it was written off,I was not happy so then I went off at them. They just don't seem to care its just facts and figures to them, they don't understand how much we luv our zeds:zlove:
Did you have anything done to it? or was it stock? I guess it will prob go really cheap at the auctions.
how much the offering at the auctions??? is it alot? but really sorry to hear man...i hoped that you would have fixed it though
buy it back yourself you could buy it back yourself and then part it out if the engine is good, you already have a sellable product right there if you can back it up with good compression results. turn this round into a win for YOU didn't the ins company offer you a buyback price first?
Didnt you get a payout? or did you hit the taxi? i cant ensure my Z for any $$ worth paying the insurance, so if something happens to her im gona cry..
i might be interested when i find out where and when is the auction and how much damage was done? how much was the estimate from the insurance company or did they just say some BS about it so it would be written off?
No suncorp-metway don't offer you a buy back price, once they pay you out the car goes to the auctions. And you have to bid for it like everyone else.I do have a few zed items for sale.
Wow you got screwed. You still should've been given first crack at buying it back before it goes to the vultures. Suncorp are dodgy.
Yea I got a pay out and the taxi hit me it was his fault I tried to make them repair it but once its been writtern off not much can be done its out of your hands Check out my other posts and you can see the damage and how much to repair the quote I got was $6900 from Kevin Douglas repairs in Townsville.
repair price of six nine and they write it off? That SUCKS BALLS man Big hairy pair of sweaty fat mans balls at that
You should of got multiple quotes from different places, some places just quote high. It took me 4 visits to different panel beaters to find someone to repair my car without it going over the 75% limit of amount insured which I think is pretty standard for them to fix it. Cheaper doesn't always mean crap too, some people are just out there to rob you and more importantly rob insurance companies. I was telling one bodyshop the price of certain parts for my car, and he was doubling them on the quote. I'm told this is a really common practise with bodyshops in regards to insurance claims, you have to be really careful.
Yea I know what you mean, when I looked at the quote they charged to have the sub-woofer removed I did that myself, so why would that be on the quote?God knows what else they charged for.
Yeah sorry dude, you got shafted. I dont think there is a whole lot you can do about it now if it's already been processed and they've paid you out.
Yea I know tell me about it I was shocked when they told me.And funny you should say big hairy sweaty fat mans balls because the wanker who hit me was a BIG FAT SWEATY TAXI DRIVER who needs to give way on round-a-bouts
Write off... There were probably other reasons for them to write it off rather than just expensive to fix. If the parts were not available then this could have been a deciding factor. If your car is worth a market value of say $9000 and they can fix it for $6900, then trust me, they would ahve fixed it (cheaper option for them) If parts were not available then this would have been a deciding factor. Not many spare parts places have rear end stuff for the Z's and insurance companies will not allow parts to bought from individuals (from forums or whatever etc) So either they valued your car at very close to the repair price, or they just couldn't get parts. As far as buy back is concerned, I think you will find that if you tried hard enough, they would have done it. Insurance companies get valuations from the auctions for the salvage so they know how much roughly to expect. You simply get a payout less the salvage figure and get the car back. Anyway, too late now I guess. How long ago was this? I might take a look at auction.
Yea I have full insurance,And I have already bought the VX holden commodore.I think my zed days are over
Hey look Commodores are Ok ... you can put the kids in the back and a screaming wife in the front, what more could you want besides a few more HP ?
