Found out the k's on my zed aren't geniune tonight. I was starting my 100 000 service when I noticed a sticker behind the cam covers. Most of it is in japanese, but there are the deffinate number's 100 000 and 82 232. I figure the 100k servise was done I japan at 82 000k's. I then realised that the car came into australia with just over 65 000k's on it. Bad luck I guess. I figure my car has about 130 000 on it in reality.

My body kit is coming along, I have just about all the custom work done, the new paint colour is picked out. So I hope to show you all the photos very soon.

dont stress, pretty much all imports have

wound back k's. I know of a few 'many' importers who do this to virtually ALL their cars.

    Wouldnt Worry About Km's

    Maaaattee,

agreed which import had genuine Kms... i know my zed car is but its aussie spec... got a recipt here and there to varify that...

however its not the Km's that matters its the condition.. and if yours looks / runs sweet like most imports then thats all that matters... i dont rekon it would be as low as 130.. but who knows doesnt matter any way...

    Go the Z cars

    I not real worried

I dosen't concren me alot, it is going to be a completly different car once I finally get it out of the garage. It always did run well, and I can't seem to really fault it.

Just didn't like the paint work after someone sprayed the side of it with rocks. The complete resray will fix that and it is never going to sit at work near council mowers again.

    DONT WORRY - Bullshit

Its ILLEGAL and this kind of complaisant attitude is why these dickheads get away with it.

Yea, I had my black zed parked at work..

and the moron next door was metal grinding and sparks and hot metal shavings was all through my paint work and to top it off they sprayed in open air next to my car and gave me a nice red and blue touch to my black car.

Stupid workers with no cares for others.

Sueing or going to insurance strait away next time.

just check the adverts, the internet sales sites ...

quite clearly the mileages are a heap of bull !!!

before buying my zed privately 6-8 weeks ago(with 96,000kms which i do not believe!!), i checked the sites out for about a month and looked at about 10 -12 vehicles ...

the best i saw was a 1991 zed with 33,000kms .. do the maths to see how stupid that claim is ... others were not much better .. but obviously adverts with mileage of around 70 - 90,000kms do get the buyer in .. and so there you have it !!! caveat emptor !!

baz, would this 1991 model with 33000k happen to be a black 2+0 NA selling for around 14k? My mate's customer/hoon buddy's gf's dad imported this but I'm pretty sure it's a 1989 model though.

Anyway as azzurro said, it's the condition that matters.

    When I was little.....

...ok, very young, Im still little :p ...I remember my Dad being furious when getting home from work one day. The guys next door to where he worked had been spray painting in open air and he was down wind. Our nice deep red Sigma was covered in white spots.

The car got resprayed with it being paid for by the guys that spray painted after my Dad threatened to go through insurance.

All the winding back I have seen is done in Japan.....>>

My own car had 17,000 on the clock when imported, and I've seen 91 model Soarers with as little as 100 ks on them. Of course I can't speak for all importers, just the ones I know.

hang a sec ... what happens if you drop a different speedo in??

or the speedo fails and you put a second hand one in???

you buy a car on its merits.... not its speedo!
