VIC Workshop Tech Weekend 22/02 to the 24/02

Hey Guys,

I'm going to be doing a tech day with forum member Brownie for both of our cars, as some of you may know my car was stolen by Brytech and then stripped of all the drive-train and expensive bits, was returned through police intervention after 9 months.

Due to this, I have been out of a car for close to 18 months, and since I work night shift, it is a hassle to say the least.

Therefore I will be hosting a tech day at 612 Autoworks in Ferntree Gulley.
They allow their shed to be rented out for a relatively good price, and are cool with larger groups coming down and having bbq's etc.

WHERE:

Their Address is Unit 2/12 Amay Crescent in Ferntree Gully, it is quite an industrial area, so plenty of parking spots and a BP around the corner for fuel.


They have engine hoists, transmission jacks, a workbench with tools, a car hoist, video games, and most importantly a barbecue to grill them snags.


WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE:

A whole drivetrain install on my car, including swapping out a TT diff for an NA, installing driveshaft, manual transmission and Engine (Non turbo, so less headaches)

A manual conversion for Brownies car, which should be done on Saturday, hopefully straightforward.

We already have all the parts required, so this should be a case of connect the dots.


WHY YOU SHOULD COME:

I need your help as I am mechanically retarded :rofl:, but I do happen to learn quickly.

There will be BBQ, plenty of food, drinks for anyone who comes along, I'll be basing how much I cook depending on the list, but there shouldn't be anyone to go without on the day.

If any experienced members or people who help a-lot come along, I would be willing to pay for their services, even if it's simply a senior aus300 member who knows back to front on engine and g-box installs sitting around and telling me what to do .

WHEN:

As per Title, it will be held from Friday the 22nd of February till Sunday the 24th, this gives people plenty of options to come along, if you need a place to crash for the night, my house is available, comes with working fridge.

Heya Guys,

Today went great, set up the car on a hoist, removed HICAS lines and solenoids, pseudo installed swaybars, and got the engine and gearbox in courtesy of mmarschall who drove down all the way from New South Wales to drop everything off, big props!

Tomorrow is going to be fairly long, so I have moved the starting time to 1pm, and will probably go until late.

There will be bbq, KFC for Abz , plenty of soft drinks and a couple heinekens for any soldiers who are allowed to have a few or aren't driving.

I'll be bringing a list of what needs to be done along with tutorials for most of the installs for anyone (including me) who doesn't know specifically what to do.

Unfortunately didn't have a camera today, so no pictures, however Camera will be present tomorrow.

Sounds productive mate! I finish work at 2 so I'll get there some time after that. Rodney the queen of the pirates will be with me.
