Well to keep the story short, I used to work for a plastics injection moulding company as a store person, I like working with computers and would like to work in the field but my education limits me since I left school at 17 (23 now) and working ever since in different jobs.
I thought about going back to school but once you start making money and got bills to pay going back to school is not an option, but doing part time school was an option but didn't persue it.
I like working with computers so my store person job didn't really have a future for me so I resigned to persue my I.T. career and my bosses was ok with that. I left work back in March and pretty much looking for work ever since, good luck in finding a decent job these days since most positions require qualifications and experience which I don't have, until a few weeks ago a position was open at my brothers missus work and it involves computers.
And you guessed it, I got the job =) I am now a Postal CoOrdinator/Customer Support for a publishing company (CPD A Thomson Company), basically what I do is take care of ALL the mail in the company, which I sort out all the incoming mail (Heaps of them) in the morning, distribute them in the company (Over 100 workers) trying to work out who sits where is the difficult part, but give me a few weeks =) Once thats finished, the whole day is doing heaps of stuff on the computer like data entry to name a few, got my own desk, actually 2 desks, computer, phone and a direct phone number =)
For those who are reading this and thinking, yeah big deal, but for me it is, changing from working hard labour in a factory to working in a office is a big change for me, it's only been a week but I'm enjoying the work and the atmosphere, something that I really wanted to do! It's a stepping stone for my future, but hey its a good start =) Thanks for listening =) =) =) Peace
    Tay

Hey man it is a big deal.

Regardless of your job you are doing something contructive, whether your a garbo or a surgeon at least you are out there paying your own way, which is more than a lot of other people out there can say for them selves.Every journey begins with the first step who know where this job can land you in a few years!!Good stuffMark

    Excellent Tay >>>

    That's good news.
By the way we didn't win the Holden job which would have meant our company purchasing goods from your old company :(.Don't be afraid of night school - I had a career change forced on me about 10 years ago, went back and did 3 years of night school, got qualified, I should have done it earlier. It's a hard grind, but it does pay off.If only I hadn't been a slackarse in school and dropped out of uni ...........Cheers, RZM.

    Congratulations Tay...

Some of the most renowned business people in Oz came from really humble beginnings eg. Jac Nasser (ex president of Ford dropped out of Uni), Poppy King (borrowed $40K to build her lipstick empire), Mark Winslow (my current "big boss" at Ford started in the warehouse picking parts for customers and now is second to Geoff Polites,Ford Australia president) and one more, who I know personally, is building a 50 room resort in Vietnam and he can't even read or write !
Oz is the land of opportunities and you have age on your side, so go for it.:YD
