So my z is not starting since taking to it my mates place and respraying it, you can hear the starter ticking but it wont turn over, what would i look at? im retarted when it comes to these cars so maybe gimme some things to look at then i can just google where they are and go from there. multimetre on the battery, check your voltage. also are your dash lights dimmed when trying to crank ?

the battery is new, its been flat about 3 times but its on a charger charging, some genius thought itd be a good idea to leave the ignition on overnight, then the same genius thought it would be a good idea to do the same thing once i had charged it. i think i need new smarter friends lol
If your confident your battery is ok and is not the problem Hit the starter motor hard with a hammer then try to start it. Its an old mechanic trick that sometimes gives them a new life by making them engage properly - you have nothing to lose!
this is used if you know your starter is either siezed or not throwing out and I wouldnt make it a hard hit., I would pick that multiple major discharges of your battery may have pooped it .
