[/IMG] can any one please tell me for sure 100% what the connector in the red circle thats near the ecu connector plugs into please? and yes i know it plugs into another connector but what is that connector for thank you in advance.
General shit like power, ignition, tach and temperature gauge output, basically everything your car needs to either send or relieve to the ECU or motor. IIRC it's actually the only link between your combined ECU/engine and the car itself.
what im trying to find out is where exactly does that connector go to that the plug ive circled goes to. going from what your saying it goes to the dash etc so would that mean that the one connector splices off into many? i was hoping for like the name of the location/item or hoping it would be as as that
dude your confusing me hey, im asking the plug circled in red on the harness picture, the plug that it plugs into, where does it go to / what is it for?
I have always been talking about the circled plug. Its individual wires do what I said in the first post. It plugs in behind the dash.
thats what i was needing to know "plugs into the dash" went the long way about it but got it, thank you
I was a bit confused about what exactly he wanted to know. You can see from the picture the plug is between the ECU and the firewall grommet - so it obviously plugs into something in between the two. He said he wanted to know what the connector was for, which as far as I thought meant "what do the wires do". Anyway for what it's worth I don't think it plugs into the dash loom, I think it connects to the front end body loom. Not certain, not that it matters.
I think he wanted to know "can any one please tell me for sure 100% what the connector in the red circle thats near the ecu connector plugs into please?".
The harness in question is an EFI harness from Wiring Specialties. According to the Nissan FSM: the EFI harness from the firewall grommet Cabin side there are three plugs. 1. (F1) ECU plug (blue large, all wire terminate) 2. (F2) Connection plug to Main Harness M95 (Approx 10 wires) 3. (F3) Resistor I'll do some more digging to get more details. Possibly consult the Wiring Specialties site.

Not familiar with the wiring specialties harness myself but given its replacement for the OEM harness, one can assume that the connectors will be roughly the same as the OEM version. Certainly don't want to add any confusion here - so follow what I am saying in the FSM! Looking at EL-151 in the FSM there are only two connectors next to the ECU /ECCS that are before the rubber grommet, these are listed as F2 (To Main Harness M95) and F3 (Resistor) We can safely assume that F3 (resistor) is hidden in the wiring as it would not need to run anywhere but to a resistor and this explains all the bulging tape at the same location. (i.e. the resistor is already wired into this new harness ) Looking at the F2 (to M95) connector, it looks similar to the connector described in wiring terms in the picture you posted as seen on the same page (EL-151) M95 is listed in the FSM on page EL- 142 as running from the F2 connector to the Electronic Fuel Injection harness. (EFI harness as Gmbrezzo correctly points out) Looking at page EL 142 should give you an idea of where to look for the M95 EFI connector to plug into the F2 connector on your wiring - its rather unique to the others around it and so it should be easy to find! Page EL 141 shows an overview of both the EFI harness and the Main harness connected together - this should also help in the scheme of things when trying to connect both harnesses together Hope that is some help to you (as per the FSM) JC :zlove:
If you look at my last post JC, you'll see a pic of the "adaptor" link harness, (picture from the Wiring Specialties web page) that goes from the wiring specialties plug to the under dash Main Harness M95 Looks to me that Spikie may not have the adaptor link and therein lye's the confusion. I have no idea why the W.S. harness does not have a direct plug at that point.
Yep The wiring specialities may be a generic harness that suits others types/ models and so has a connector to suit and when used in Z's needs the adaptor They seem to have bypassed it with CZP's, I guess there is no point having the extra connector and that's why they bypassed it with CZP's harness as the end plug looks like the right one. I think he will be right now once he locates that plug Cheers G
No probs. Anti was the one that got the ball rolling. He was correct in saying it was the under dash harness connector. I only did a little research to confirm he was right.
