What could cause the wearing of the inside two inches of a Federal 275 wide rear tyre (both sides)
not scrubbing but sort of rippling in front edge less wear than the back of each tread pattern section (if thats a good description.) No more wear from one side to the other in overall terms... Tyres are near new 3-4K max

Wheel alignment bloke, said I need a FUCA to get correct Front alignment but no rear component or Bush wear and a Pedder inspection stated nothing to do back there.

Could it be a HICAS issue or something along those lines or perhaps Shockies (stock)

I have slight vibration from driveline (another work in progress) as well which makes this a Pita to isolate?

    AND FUCA
Anyone reccomend a great (adjustable) Front Upper camber arm and where from (prefer onshore)?

    TY Steve

do you have the printout from your last wheel alignment?

Dynamic imbalance from diff/drive or excess toe coupled with low inflation pressure are the two most common causes for scalloped tyre wear.

Also if the Federals have quite large tread blocks it is not uncommon for that type of tyre to wear in this manner.

    Dynamic imbalance from diff/drive

can you clarify .. does this mean that you think there is excessive wear to the diff and drive shafts?
    Thanks

Thats right. Diff, driveshafts, wheel bearings, get a good look under there, give it all a wiggle and a shake.

I just had it a mechanics today and he suggested bearings OK ..
Onepiece Driveshaft is only just over a year old ....
Pedders (again about a year ago after all new treadlies) said nothing to do ..

But Mech said he suspected shockies or the like but I'm sure he would have checked bearings as thats what I got the car in for as I thought bearings or Diff issue???

I'll get out and check tyre pressure tomorrow.

But thanks VERY much for your suggestions and sharing knowledge etc and anything else you may offer.
