OK guys, ive seen the oldest zeds, but never the youngest I know they wer made in Japan till 2000, so this means we are able to import them still, as long as you can get a late model some how. so, the question is, who owns the youngest zed?
I have an 8 month 95 2+2 which cannot be imported anymore. I believe there are a few 2k spec zeds around but not sure if 2+2 or 2 seater Late model 2+2's would be rarer i think
I always thought there were compliance issues for the 2k spec zeds because of the airbags or something, but i believe there are one or two around. Theres a couple of members on here with '97 zeds but i don't know of anything later.
yeh theres a member on here with a 97 NA 2 seater zed. Very clean. his name is bion1c though i havent seen him on the forums or a cruise in almost a year. Really wanted to chat with him again. Apparantly Spencer from Nissport has a 2k spec zed. But yes when the 15 yr old rule came in the double airbag is what killed importing 2k spec zeds.
I'm assuming they won't import them in case the bags are faulty? can the airbags be disarmed for compliance.
No just that they dont have dual airbags I think which is odd as not every car made and sold here has dual airbags anyway. My 95 has a drivers only
The US zeds got dual airbags from 93 - 96 i think, the reason we didnt get them for the jspec/ausspec was becuase there was no law over in japan to have dual airbags and thats why they never installed them to the z32. I was thinking about trying to retrofit a uspec zeds dual airbag system into my car cutting out the hole for the dash but this would require about $2000 just to make and i dont even think it would work. the airbags alone are $800 bucks.
Mine is 1991 build but with new engine, rebuilt gearbox, new driveline, new interior, and new suspension components I call it 2008 spec
My Baby Hey to all who know me, yes its been ages...... I have to work out how to put the pic in.............hahahhaa
