When i got defected the other night the cop had a go at me for having some slight taring on my drivers side seat. I told him that i was getting aftermarket seats and i was going to get them complianced and he said that i wouldnt be able to get any seats complianced on my car. Now can everybody with aftermarket seats please prove that cop wrong and mybe post up some of your 'LEGAL' & 'COMPLIANCED' aftermarket seats...
the only way you can legally fit aftermarket seats without an engineering certificate is if they are ADR approved and fit the standard Z32 rails without modification...

I have a racing seat fitted Fixed back seats are illegal for 2+2's because they can't fold forward in emergencies to let out the people in the back seats but i got a roadworthy with my racing seat on drivers side for a 2 seater model i'm not sure about reclinable racing seats in 2+2 though see my garage if you want pics Cheers Xavier

Ah ok. funny that, mines farked and it passed after I got defected for prang damage. alot of the driver seats (factory) are worn out on the side nearest the door
I can confirm this approach ... pulled over for a random police + EPA inspection. Cop says hey look, tear in the seat, goes for the ticket book. EPA guy says hey look, BOVs you naughty fella, goes for the book of orange canaries. Cop says OK, he's got you for the BOV's, I'll just give you a verbal for the seat ... but get it fixed. I think he even underlined it while he was talking.
