Why doesnt your mate just test drive both? That way he can exprience for himself. NOTE: when i say test drive, I mean push to the limit. ps: the playing feild is not equal anymore, as many/most Z's and skyrines will have some level of modification, after 10-15 years there is no such thing as "stock for stock". Wear and tear, etc means that 2 equally stock cars will have different levels of usage (or odometer wound back ), and may or may not be a fair comparison to "stock" To clarify, in 1989, a brand new gts-t vs z32 comparison would be fair, as opposed to comparing a 1990 z32 to a 1994 skyline, where suspension is worn, eninge compression not where it should be, power down from stock, etc... So the only way to tell is on a car by car basis.
and on a side note, an NA 300zx will absolutly murder an NA skyline, but that is comparing a sports car to a taxi  :zlove: Cheers Rob
I have an R33 GTS-T and the Zed. At 14PSI, the R33 would be around the same as a stock Zed on 9.5 PSI with regards to acceleration off the line.
