Just looking from peoples opinions on which would be better for a machanically ignorant fool like myself.
    NA or TT?
I'm tossing up between a '90 aus speck NA or a '90 J spec TT. Both are selling for around the same price ath the moment. Things to take into consideration are that this will be my daily drive doing close to 200k a day to and from work, so I need to take into consideration maintainence costs etc.:zlove:

    Cheers

    Graeme

If your not worried about the "twin turboes kicking in" id go the NA, less stuff to go wrong, more likely genuine kays(if its an oz spec ur looking at), etc. My NA lasted me around 18 months with just basic maintinencing costs and no major problems...

I bought a nice Aus-Spec and managed to avoid the trap of spending money on performance modifications, so for me it was the right decision. If you feel you will be likely to head down the modifying route may as well bite the bullet and get a TT which will net better performance gains for similar spend.

You need only read a few threads to realise that the majority of NA owners on this forum that mod for performance end up spending money on engine conversions.

And lastly if you're looking at traveling 200km's a day, it wouldn't make much sense purchasing a zed with a lower figure on the odometer (assuming you trust it). Save some coin and buy a nice condition Zed which has already been around the block a few times and then you won't feel so bad when you put over 100,000 km's in the first 18 months of ownership.

I've deliberately skirted around the issue of fuel because by all accounts a TT Zed in a nice state of tune will return comparable figures to that of an NA provided you're fond of your licence.

    Hey Graeme,
If you're not particularly chasing a TT i would chase down an aus spec NA as a more of a "hassle-free" daily driver.
I know a TT kept in good nick can be just as reliable, as i drive a TT that has never caused me any dramas. But as said before, there is less to go wrong and less to worry about with an NA. Also if you were going to insure it, an Aus spec will be easier to insure.

    Just my AUD$0.02 :)

yeah, i have a NA.. they do go for what they are and if you need or intend to do alot of driving i would go the NA as a daily option over a TT...TT's if looked after can be just as reliable as a NA however there is the chance for more to go wrong.....

Im selling my NA to get a TT and a cheap daily then... i hate it cause i am going to miss my NA something shocking i put alot of time and effort into her..
:(.. but i would like a Twin Turbo now

Starting to sound somewhat one sided

    Just counting the votes

I was already leaning towards the NA

This may be what pushes me over the edge.

    Arrrrrrrrrhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

The long fall in Z32 ownership

Get an n/a,have a good time with trouble free motoring, learn how every thing works, then later if you want ,get a t/t

Dont do what most on here do and buy a t/t,get sick of problems cropping up ,get disillusioned and then sell out and destroy the dream
Learn to walk before you run
Dont stress, youll still pick up with an n/a,probably more as most t/t's here sit in the garage with funds having run out lol

Buy a GOOD well maintained TT and you'll never regret it. I've spent next to NOTHING on mine except a few performance mods and regular servicing at Gavin Woods (not counting a tranny failure/replacement) which could happen to any Zed, given age.

Waiting for a good TT 2 +2 with proven service history may take a while.

im not sure which is rarer these days, finding a GOOD well maintained TT or finding a noobie that can afford to give regular servicing to our cars

new to zeds and using it to drive 200kms to work everyday as stated above = n/a

100% correct on all points, ... but, Graeme's a lead-foot and I can see him enjoying TT performance :p

bit of a waste putting 4000km a month on a zed.. why not grab a commo/falcon to use for that and then have a nice tt for a weekender

.. and simon, Graeme is not a noobie ...

.. his beautiful, marigold, Z31 was in no way a noobie machine ... handled the to/from Cowra trip without missing a beat ... all at legal speeds, of course .... !!!!
