My car was just attacked by a metro bus? Bloody driver didnt even stop. He/She/It has owned the drivers side mirror and completely destroyed the front right hand gaurd. Fist time I have driven it all week and this happens. I have had more bad luck with this car :'( Hmm, so I have just called the depot and reported it, they say their accident guy will contact me tomorrow (although im not going to hold my breath, so I have his phone number as well). Well, I am going to go sulk now, this has completely ruined my week.
You should report it to police ...>> and if you have insurance let them handle getting the money from the bus company. Sorry to hear about your misfortune.

I was on a pushbike once and got pushed into the gutter in a corner by a bus. Landed on my shoulder and got a small rip in the pants. At least the bus stopped. The driver was more concerned than I was. That was in the days when the 280ZX was current. I have 3 of those no more so current out the back. The Z32 is out the front.
Its only property damage, but the driver should have stoped to check the sceen, at very least. You should have reported it to the cops right away.
dude main thing is you werent in the car...it could have been alot worse.... i dont think there is a need to call the police atm...wait and see what happens when you talk to the guy, if all goes well it shouldnt take long before you it will be up and running.... make sure when they repair that area, if you think the colour is different to the rest of the car do not rest at anything....its a zed and it shouldnt be treated as just another quick repair... good luck
in these situations start writing the insident down on paper send one to the depot 1 to the police and another to the customer service or equivilant state transit depending what state your in and of course insurance company dont wash the car might have some bus residue ie paint and let each dept know who you sent it to this works man trust me the goverment deptz tremble at letters but just chatting to them dont mean a thing...
The police will write down his description off what occoured, time date day ect, very handy if things get messy.A bus driver or anyother driver, has to stop at the sceen of any accident they were involved in, its the law! We cant have drivers ramming others property and just driveing off!
Sorry to hear, luckily the damage is not too bad. The wheel dosnt seem to have been touched, otherwise you couldve ended up with a bent control arm
I'm definitely trembling at this letter. Have you ever heard of PUNCTUATION, SENTENCES, GRAMMAR, CAPITAL LETTERS? (And I haven't even mentioned Spelling) .
Report it to the police Its the law to report any car accident isn't it? Its also the law to stop at a scene of an accident you are involved in which the driver failed to do. Also if you dont report it, you cant do anything about getting money from the bus company if they dont feel like paying up.
Sorry to read this Sven... AS others have siad, report it to the police. It's a offence to leave the scene of an accident. Also, write down all the details while they are still fresh in your mind eg. what street you were in, where you were parked, what time you were parked there etc... Good luck.
That bugger! You say you weren't in the car, but you saw it happen - is that right? Ie. how do you know it was a bus? If you were there, I can't believe they didn't stop! What a tosser! Was there anyone else with you who saw it and can back up your claim? I hope you get what's fair mate - that blows! indeed, i have been in contact with the police but apparently i cant report it over the phone as i have to sign some forms? anyway, now i will have to go into the copshop - which is difficult, as the car is hardly road legal at the moment. yes there were other people there that saw it. the stupid thing about it is that the guy from metro has said they know which bus it was (it even has red paint on it) and they know which driver it was (but they cant contact him) and the guy that contacted me is actually only filling in for someone else who is on holiday - so he cant do anything till monday when the other guy gets back. and to top it all off, because the driver never reported it, and is currently awol, he cant fill out an accident report form, so their insurance wont do anything - AS IF A BLOODY BIG BUS WITH MY RED PAINT ON IT ISNT ENOUGH! although in saying they know which bus it is, and that it has red paint on it they have as good as admitted to being in the wrong i think? ohh well, i suppose i will see what happens when i report it officially to the police.
I'm just imagining the worst... You decide to drive down in the Z to report it in person to the police like they asked, they see your car and give you a defect notice! LOL Wouldn't that be something to post about? Seems like they've pretty much admitted it too - luckily you didn't come back and find it that way with no idea of who the hell did it!
indeed, i was only about 5min drive away from home when it happened, and i was worried about that on the way back. i wouldve cried if that was the case.
