Hi guys, got 2 questions... Firstly my zed needs a wheel alignment badly and id like to know if there are any places you guys have had experince with... I live in carlingford so anywhere in nth west sydney area would be great... Secondly, my car has started to make a knocking noise which is especially noticable at low speeds, like carpark speeds(may do it on the road but cant here it over the engine noise). It seems to be coming from the rear drivers side wheel area. Haven't noticed any difference in the way the car drives so im not sure what it could be. Cheers, Luke
When I lived in Sydney..... I used to use Pedders at Granville. The wheel alignment specialist was a bloke called Dave and he always did a good job on my zeds. Don't know if he's still there but it's worth a phone call. I think you'll find quite a few forum members used to go there so maybe someone knows if Dave is still there. Oops, forgot about your rear noise. Could be a wheel bearing on the way out. Always very clunky at a snail pace but becomes a less noticeable grumble at speed. If you jack up the rear of car and turn the wheel by hand you should get a good indication.
I had a whoof-whoof noise from the left rear mostly noticeable at around 40k. It turned out to be the tyre. (no visible damage)
Pedders Suspension Granville James Ruse Drive(left hand side just before Parramatta Rd). 98972122 Con Rouggos Owner/Manager I have been using them for 9 years(I was in there yesterday). They really know their stuff when it comes to Z32's & Skylines.:zlove::zlove::zlove:
this may be obvious but have u checked your wheel nuts? i used2 have all kinds of noises coming from the rear of my car. id highly recommend replacing your subframe bushings and diff bushings with the larger ES ones or fitting collars to eliminate the slop between the subframe and the chassis. makes a big difference
Yeah first thing i checked, couple were a little loose, noise seems to have quietened a little.. next thing oin the to do list is suspension, ill look into those bushings, thanks
Knock Knock could be exhaust on that side, mine does this now and again, if one of the mounting rubbers come off.
