Im going down to Lorne Vic Tuesday to Friday next week with Jenny for a bit of relaxation... I hear its a sleepy spot but I'm wondering where the nearest club or decent nightspot is? We're after an attractive young crowd, dance music, nice food and decent cocktails... am I way off the mark?? Any other ideas for sights to see and things to do? I'll have a rental car so getting around isnt an issue.
there is 1 pub just up from the cumberland which is OK Other than that, they have screwed up the entire area making it to commercialised. The only good thing left there is *parts* of the beach and the drive up and past lorne. Also have a meal at the pier, awesome food!
Drive past Lorne about 4 Klms and you get to a cove called cumberland river. Take your bathers and a cut lunch. Its a lovely 20 mins walk to the falls and the rock pools. Its a beautiful way to spend a day. Lorne is where I spent a lot of my late teens. It ws lots different back then. But still lovely. I would love to retire down there. Also have a drive to Apollo bay for the day. Just magnificent road. Heres a taste from last April when I was there. You will really wish you had zed there.
