Out of curiosity what is the top speed of a standard geared 300zx with the speed limiter removed?
Id imagine a stock one wouldn't have the power to push it through to the rev limiter in 5th anyone know what power you would need to achieve this?

On a Private track or airstrip of course!!!

road and track got a early 90's manual to 267km/h

physically i think the TT manual box is limited to around 295km/h.
the auto box once the converter has locked up is about 305km/h

    280kmh I heard.

I think mafiz topped his out on the run way hitting the redline in 5th

Ive had mine past the end of the speedo(jap-spec 190km/h) and it was in 5th gear at only 3000rpm. Not sure exactly how fast i was going but now i have a new zed with a nismo 300km/h speedo! The fastest land speed(car) ever recorded is still held by the Z32 @ 427km/h! -apparently.

That's not the fastest land speed record, that was in a particular category of cars. But I'm curious to know what your zed will pull on your new speedo, go to the track and find out!

one of the Vic guys did 305kmh so i hear lol  (under controlled conditions on a private road of course)

Maybe the zedder who got done doing 200kmh+ last week at Warwick was trying to break that record :eek::rolleyes:

    red32 You talkin' to me?

Nissan's advertised top speed for the Z32 was 253kph (auto or manual, NA or TT). But then, they also advertised a peak power for the TT of 206Kw!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe they proportionately lowered the top speed with that of TT power output.

    253kph is to 305kph - 206Kw is to 248Kw

What is the considered factory power output of a TT ? obviously ,more then the Japanese market limit of 206Kw at the time.

    320km/h @ 8000rpm with 3.692 Diff Ratio.

Need about 280rwkw with the zed's drag coefficient, give or take, depending on tyres, etc, etc

Nice picture, but that isn't the car its class is F/BMS and it has a rear pedestal type wing, no JUN/Blitz signage and everyone knows 2 seaters are not the fastest. :p

Wouldnt mind getting specs/mods/pictures for either car, but cant find any yet.

That was scarey fast! Ive never heard a Z32 sound so noisey and rough at speed before, but then Ive never been in one doing 300kph:eek:
