Just pay by COD Aust Post- simple way to ensure both parties don't get ripped off :zlove: Red Dwarf and I recently used this, very succesful and you can insure the article for $1.00 (covers up to $1000). Sender sends item with COD paperwork, no charge- buyer receives notice in letterbox that parcel waiting at local PO. Go into PO with ID and pays the total amount(which is comprised of the dollar amount the seller has quoted, together with the delivery/COD/insurance charge -about $15 odd dollars roughly for ave size parcels) to get the article. Sender then gets a cheque for their portion in the mail... Only possible caveat is if buyer refuses to pick up/pay for article then aus post charges have to be paid by seller to get article back...
I used to use COD a lot before i was on this forum, but i have a lot of trust with most of the members on this forum even if i have never talked to them before. I remember my first purchase 2 years ago, a member actually sent me the item before i even sent the money, simply a great community we have on this forum. Having said that its real shame to hear stories of members getting ripped off by other members, and i've only heard a few over the years. Be careful who you buy from guys, especially newbies with no reputation or someone who has been reported to be dishonest COD comes real handy in these situations. On a side note there used to be this scammer on a different car forum that would send crappy parts in a box COD and has rip off hundreds of buyers making thousands of dollars.
yep thats a flaw with cod. You cant inspect the package before you pay for it. So if they send you something else then youve lost your money.
