Hi I have a recent rebuilt standard motor in my z32 tt and my infometer is saying the temperature is running around 79 to 81 degrees c.
just wondering if this is an optimum temp for a z.
    Cheers.

    Adz_79 I do it in a Zed

Sounds about right. Depending on ambient tempretures, my zed has been around those same temps with ambient being 14 degrees. And my motor is an old worn out girl :)

With a/c on, 32 degree ambient in slow moving traffic I got a reading of 92, but normal driving at 26 degree, a/c on, about 84-86

That would be about the coolest they run. Give it a bit of load and temps will go up. Turn on the aircon and temp will rise a few degrees. Sit in a traffic jam at 40 degrees with aircon on and it will get close to 100 degrees.

These engines are designed to run hot.

Yeh mate I understand that. When I'm taking I easy its at around low 80's, glad to hear that's a good temperature to run at.

Before the rebuild the motor with blown heads was 10 degrees hotter under the same conditions.

Close to 100? Every cars different

After being heatsoaked and crawling in traffic on a 40deg day, I might reach the mid 80s'maybe.

The auxillary fan doesn't even kick in until it reaches 105 Celsius (from memory)

On my car, 84 on a normal day doesn't matter if i give it shit or not. On a cold night 82 and will drop to 79 while moving. Hot day and in traffic will see high 80's.
