    Hi,

I am about to purchase a pod filter and get rid of my restrictive airbox.

Upon looking around I have noticed that there are many brand name and non-branded pods on the market. I have also noticed the different styles of pod eg mushroom, cone etc...

How much should i be paying for one of these I had a look on the AMEC Site and their K&N F.I.P.K is $290 with brackets however they also have no-brand pods for $35.

Which Brand and style pod filter & mounting kit would you recommend for the N/A 300ZX at a reasonable price (around $150)?

Hi growtalski, the K&N with the chrome heads (same thing as the black headed one which costs 100bux, but you pay extra 60-70bux for bling bling) are pretty good, and if i can remember rite it should cost around your budget.

I went with apexi dual funnel for my TT bought off caz1 with fitment kit, i beleive she is still selling them so you may be able to contact her and get one quite cheap in comparison to the prices you are quoting not sure exactly how much it was somwhere between $130 and $180 including kit

Buy them from wherever they are cheapest. I got a pod K&N for my g/f's car for $70 from Repco. Didn't have brackets etc. but cheap. Just shop around at places like repco etc. to get a starting point.

Somehow i dont think he is worried about fiting a front mount to his car, it being NA and all

I remember reading on a random (non-car related) forum, someone saying he wanted to put know how to put blow-off valves on his car (was some random non-turbo excel or civic or similar). After being told that it would really be a waste of money, time and just a really stupid question, he then asked if there was someway he could make his car make the BOV noise when he shifted gears. LMAO at that.

    thanks all

I am pretty sure I have seen a *wink* *wink* BOV for N/A cars. I'm pretty sure its basically a speaker module that sits in your engine bay and some how you connect it so when you change gears it makes the noise!! Extremely lame... I can't believe that someone has actually made this product!!

    I will PM Caz.

    Thanks for all your suggestions.

I've had a UniFilter on my zed for 4 years now...

Never had a problem... its washable and reusable, and fairly cheap (about $130 I think).

    Cheers
