Yeah, I am aware of it, I have the same opinion about stock rims, similar to how stock wheels on falcon utes sit a mile in under the gaurds, it just looks terrible. but of course your right about rim width, but lets be honest, the only way you will get a rim with an offset in the 40's to look nice on a z if if the rim was about 12 inches in width, and that is not possible for several reasons. I'm on the ball now, was way to late last night to be posting. its obvious now your reason for asking has nothing to do with aesthetics of the fit specifically related to the Z. I'll leave your thread in peace
Just wondering what your wheel width was 7.5, 8.0, 8.5 ? and what tyre sizes did you put on. 225, 235, 245 ? If anyone is interested, the stock 16" rim being 7.5" with a 225mm tyre can take a 25mm hub centric gktech bolt on and sits flush without rubbing (stock suspension & ride height) So you might be able to work your calculations off that.
Quick run down of cars I know off the top of my head that have, or can run similar sized wheels to zeds (with the same PCD) Nissan: S13/S14/S15/180sx R31/R32/R33/R34 Non GTR Variants R32/R33/R34 GTR, but they usually need more aggressive offsets. 350z/370z - once again, need quite aggressive offsets. Toyota: Supra Cressida Some model MR2s Mazda: RX7 RX8 Honda: S2000 (Require high offsets) NSX (Require high offsets.)
