Finally wired in the '99 spec indicators & installed the alloy under carriage splash guards.

Whats the difference between '99 spec indicators and pre-'98 ones when installing them? Is it just the bulb holder shapes are different which requires you to re-wire adaptors that fit?

    Correct...

Early style front indicators have three locating tabs on the globe housing. '99 spec have 4 locating tabs and use a plug and connector opposed to just screwing in the globe housing.

Started it for the first time in close to 12 months, damn it felt good.
Then spent the afternoon polishing up my new exhaust, coming up great but the previous owner has got a bit of overspray on the inner portion of the mufflers, any tips on getting it off stainless without marking it up?

Can't be seen unless it's on a hoist but still needs to come off

Today I put my old fuel pressure regulator back on.

A couple months ago I was window shopping on CZP and ended up buying a new FPR even though my current one works perfectly fine. I bought it because it looked nice and shiny and because I'm a compulsive Z part buyer and because I believe in replacing old parts with new ones for reliability when I can.

So being on holidays on Tues I replaced my old FPR with the new one and also replaced various fuel hoses at the back of the engine and new filter. I took it for a spin and found that the car was very sluggish, stank of fuel and at WOT did not accelerate at all but just produced continuous back firing on every single cylinder firing.

I concluded the car was running very rich and probably because the new FPR is producing higher fuel pressure than the ECU is tuned for. I had wondered if this would happen but put the new one in anyway and it did. In theory they should be the same pressure both being OEM. Presumably its the old one that's out of spec.

Of course I could get the ECU tuned for the new FPR but at this time of year everyone is on holidays and besides I already had two tunes of my ECU a couple weeks ago and the results were pretty good (271 rwkw on UAS dyno on stock turbos).

So yesterday I painted my old FPR and today I put it back in. I will just keep the new one as a spare.

Took the car for a spin and it was back to its old self again. Moral of the story: if it ain't broke don't try to fix it.

Just use some thinners. Then just polish the stainless.

Had this problem when I painted our zed. Overspray on the mufflers. Thinners took it all right off and a bit of polish brought them up new again.

They came with the new one. Was purely random but I even have them angled right lol

Installed aem boost gauge for logging and hectic street points.

New rear swaybar end links. Changed all oils and took the poor old thing off the stands for the final time.

Waiting on my boost controller which is really annoying. Changed the fuel pressure from 55 to 45 to hopefully not starve the fuel system on e85.

Radio is back in and car is all coming back together. Very excited to try the nitrous.

got a bit worried about how much hurt I have been putting on the motor and did a compression test... it will be receiving more hurt :br:

blew of a intercooler hose and doing lots of boost leak tests. it is so much better now I have completely deleted the PCV. no more oil in the intake

Regamasters are back from the Machine shop. They have been machined to accommodate the Evo centre caps. Wheels will be sent to the Powder coaters this weekend for a clean and respray. Getting closer....Hoping to have new wheels and suspension parts installed and completed by mid Feb.

found out that vert has a wind deflector built in behind the seats. never knew it was there...

i wonder how many other vert owners are oblivious to this as well lol.

Have only used it a couple of times. Rarely bother though.

Didn't you ever wonder what it was?

mine was very stiff, almost jammed shut. never wanted to force it, just assumed it was a trim piece.

imho, its not that windy even at 100km+ anyway. not compared to other verts ive driven.

Yeah, my thoughts too. Not really worth putting it up which is why I have never really bothered.

Put the Stillen nose panel back on and giving it its first polish,
went with Nu Finish, the once a year car polish.

trying to get a good example of the paint colour, but its really something you need to see with your naked eye, photos don't bring it out very well...

Slowly chipping away at my engine bay.

AIV, EGR and PRVR solenoids and associated wiring/vacuum hose has been deleted. AIVs themselves are still in place, partially due to time constraints and partially due to laziness. I can actually see the floor in the gap now!
Rerouted some wiring around the drivers side and rear of the engine bay.
Started setting up for relocating the ps reservoir (is that spelt right?) and once thats done the drivers side will be pretty much empty.

Extra deep boot is taking place slowly too. Ground out all the mounts for the false floor (2+2), space saver is gone, all the old tar in the boot has been scraped out too. That is a mission but i figured out how to do it rather quickly near the end -.-

Boot floor has been painted, dynamat has been laid. I can hear myself think again! Dynamat makes a huge difference over the factory tar, and actually weighs less per square meter if anyone needed to know. The new boot floor will go in once ive put in the battery box, and should be about 12cm lower than the stock floor height.
