Ok: At the front of my bar there are indicators/parking lights but next to them there are the large lights that wrap around the bar. These look like fog lamps/turning indicator lamps or something! Does anyone know what these do or how to turn them on? I have a feeling its part of compliance that the front fog lamps are removed and replaced with the indicator/parker combo's??? Are the other ones Lights that light up when indicating? (eg: turn lamps - ala soarer/statesman/cadilac etc..) I also have a fog lamp switch on my dash that does nothing, I'm assuming this is for the old fog lamps before they were removed? :wacko: :wacko: :wacko: :wacko:
absolutely correct. In japan, the outer lights are used for indication and there are combination parker / foggies in the inner location. For aus compliance the inner lights are changed to parker / indicator, and the outer ones are either just plastic blanks, or the original lights without the wiring connected to them.
Any Cool Modifications.. ... that I could do to the setup and keep it legal? I'd love fog lamps if they looked stock.. what have people done?
mine weren't changed for compliance and I've never had a problem. Car was defected for other reasons and the 'full inspection' box ticked. Defect cleared with no mention of the indicators. Just do it :thumbsup:
My Zed is an Aus Spec and I've changed mine. You're lucky in that the wiring from the fog light switch to the fog lights should still be intact - aus specs didn't have the wiring . You should be able to buy foggies & outer indicators, connect them up in their proper locations and then you'll be back to japanese stock! You'd be unlucky to get nailed for performing these modifications unless you go around driving with them on in full daylight while tailgating a police car :LOL: or driving erratically which gives mr plod an extra reason to pull you over. Best thing I ever did to my Zed. :thumbsup:
i got a JSpec and mine are setup like an ASpec when it come here they must of changed it all around.. I want to go back to how the JSpec comes but if i tend to upgrade from the stock front bar to something else really no point but i guess it depends on the front bar i get. Nath
Changed for complicance I agree with with big col. My parking lights switch on from the light switch or the fog light switch . The corner lights are intact,I have checked and all that has been done is remove the fog lamps and globes from corner lights and change the wiring over.It would be quite simple to change back,I think I would seek advice if legal or fit driving lights.
mine were not changed either when getting compliancing done my indicators are on the outside, with the parkers/fog lights on the inside.
