Wow, spent nearly all day replacing one small hose at the back of the engine. It is the LHS turbo coolant hose. The thing split a few weeks ago and this has been the first chance I have got to replace the mongrel. The spring clamps were a PITA to get off, the new hose was hard to get on because the tube had deteriated and were this hose is located is one of the worse places, being at the very back near the fire wall. Still, the main thing is that it's fixed. I was really worried that the coolant leak was something more serious. :) :zlove:

I admire your effort. I took the easy way out and got

the mechanic to do it. $40 tow and $180 to replace hose. So you saved yourself a good amount of money to put into other maintenance work (or bling):zlove:

Well done for doing it yourself (thumbs-up if we had it).

Thanks for the thumbs up, I would give a thumbs up as well except that every knuckle is skinned tonight!!! Still one of the good things while the car was up on the blocks is to have a good look at some of the other hoses and do a tightening effort on stuff that normally is hard to see. My next job is to save up and get a new Koyo radiator when the next GB comes around. This episode has taught me a lesson about having the cooling system in top condition, especially since I live in the tropics. :p:zlove:

I know what you mean. Its getting pretty tropical in

Brissie ATM. I probably should have got onto the Koyo radiator GB but had already commited to the 'Max from Aus" seat covers. Not that there is anything wrong with my cooling system - I just get paranoid something will go wrong even though everything has been done to maintain it. :zlove:

Well guys there may be another one there may not be. I am looking at another one probably mid January kick off but will need 10 to make it a goer I think. I will keep in contact with the supplier and see how we go. So far I have sold about 23 from GB 1+2 and includes a few extras from cancelled orders so I am hitting them up for the same pricing for 5 given we have purchased so many collectively. Keep an eye on the GB section for new threads.

    Sorry to hijack thread

Stock TT radiator is well up to the job. I've had mine here in Townsville (which is hotter than Cairns) for 18 months now and never an issue with overheating even using the A/C. Only reason I changed over to an all alloy radiator is for reliability as those dam plastic end tanks are so tempremental when they get some years behind them.

BTW, since the cooling hose to the LHS turbo had perished, if you haven't already done so you would be best scheduling in an under plenum bypass ASAP.
