    Hey guys.

I've read a lot of posts on this lately, just wanted the thoughts of the experts if possible here.

I started my car and hear a whiring noise, like almost electrical, but it drives home ok, I notice the HICAS light is on, then goes off 5 minutes later.
Later I drop the guys off, and as I pull out of their driveway I hear a loudish electrical noise, and the power steering dies, the HICAS light stays on, and I get worked out arms for the drive home....

    Power steering fluid levels?

    Thanks

    Leon

Fliud level would be a good place to start......>>

Then try an ECU diagnostic and see if there are any codes.

could be a bung power steerting pump. I had a similar problem

recently and had to get mine rebuilt, cost about $250.

The answer to this was a major power steering leak. I filled it up this morning, only to find out it was leaking faster then I was putting it in

I'll probably get a mechanic to check it out, probably a hose? Another 500 odd dollars down the drain...

depending on which hose is leaking you could probably fix it yourself

    for alot less than $500.
