    Hey everyone,
I'm about to put my new radiator in aswell as the EWP I bought from ZRATED ages ago. I've decided that I want to keep the fan, but in order to do that I have to have the water pump there. My thoughts are, can the water pump just have its internals stripped out, and is it easy to do? Thought that it was, but not sure...some hints would be awsome:) also is there a gasket that I'll need to replace after I re-install it?

    Cheers, Michael

With an EWP you are pretty committed to removing water pump and fan assy. Unless you you run with EWP and standard water pump to carry the fan.

Nah I've found out that you can just remove the impellor inside the water pump so that the fans still works but the pump doesn't pump any water. Think thats what I'm going to do till I find a decent thermo fan.

    You can

remove the impellor, v8 guys remove the impellor from there w/pumps and replace them with s/s impellors.
they last longer and don?t cavitate. :zlove:

Yes you can, but note the rest of your comment. They REPLACE them with.... Some thing has to "crush" the ceramic faced seal that keeps the water in the cooling system. OK you could machine a bush that replaced the impeller, replace the seal if you can get them, it's possible but you need a machine shop, micrometer, lathe, press etc

Got all that:) benefit of being a warfie between uni:) Will just see how it goes, if its gonna be to much trouble I'll just get a thermo fan, as it'll be what I'll end up doing down the track anyways.:zlove:
