After making the rookie error of purchasing a 1 piece braided clutch line form CZP, meaning that the line was about 3m long designed for the LHD z32! I have had this fitted as a temporary option during my clutch change but can anyone suggest a local supplier or a company who can modify existing or make one up for me as i think the fluid is starting to go "hydroscopic" according to the tec section as it may be heating up in its epic 3m journey from master to slave cylinder around the transmission. Thanks
You could have purchased the correct item from UAS in Sydney(perhaps Pirtek or similar may be able to shorten your current hose)?
Hydroscopic is referring to the action of the alchohol in the fluid attracting water into suspension. Nope, unless you have not bled it thoroughly then the length of that line is largely irrelevent. At the pressures made in an automotive clutch hydraulic system are low and the fact that the fluid is relatively incompressible at that pressure, AND the fact you have fitted a fairly rigid flexible line resistant to expansion, you could run that line down to the tailights and back and not have a drama. Afterall, your brake lines travel that far dont they?!!! If you cant run the line neatly along somewhere to hide the length then just take it down to a hydraulics place and have them shorten it. l8r E
Alright i shall give her a good bleeding and see how she changes through the gears after that, as I have no other reason for why a slight gear crunch should develop 500km after a new clutch replacement.
You believe the extra foot of clutch line is the cause for your slight gear crunch? Mate, its just as likely to be a dirty windshield or a rusty hatch is the culprit..
ah yes i have noticed the washer fluid is getting a bit low, I shall top that up and add a little washing detergent to the mix to see if that helps lubricate through the gear changes.
