Vin plate replacement?

My VIN plate has seen better days and you can hardly read it. Is it possible to get a replacement made some how? What happens with all the cars getting around from smash repairs with no VIN plate.

All cars must have a VIN plate. If there is no VIN plate, the RTA requires you to have it taken to a police station to be confirmed as not stolen. You then must have the VIN number allocated stamped in. VIN numbers that have been checked by the police have the letter P in front of the number.

e.g. a number like P263945345 indicates a VIN number that was replaced/ allocated and restamped and was checked by the police physically

I know this, because I had it done once before with a previous car.

Do you mean VIN plate OR Build plate ?

You can just get the VIN number stamped on the chassis if the plate looks crap. None of the 15 year cars even had VIN plates. They where all stamped on the tower.

If you mean Build plate, No one gives a rats ass if its there or not.

Well in your case. The build plate now bears NO relationship whatever to your NA spec TT converted car.

 

Still says LP2 & 2+2, everything else is different hahaha

 

If you ever want to sell me your LP2 build plate, I've got the money.
Lots of it.

thanks for that info i assumed it was a VIN plate. i have the chassis number stamped as you say so ill just pull the build plate off

 

He'll do it too. I've seen him swallow way worse things
