I was admiring your rollcage at kinglake, my son commented on it too. After this I can really see the value in them!
Glad to hear you're ok and haven't given up on the zed!
Does it still run? When you find a shell, I'd be happy to come out and give you a hand. There's lots of support on this forum, I'm sure we'd get you back on the road in no time.

Thanks so much for all the kind words and support guys. A testament to this great 300zx community we are all part of. Ross, thats very kind of you - car was running while it was still upside down and I was being helped from the wreckage, Bryan turned it off and disconnected the battery..

:O.... All i can say is... wow...

That is such horrible news and i am very glad everyone was ok. From the sounds of it you all had a very level head and did a fantastic job in a horrible situation.

    Wow..

Sorry to hear of this tragedy... Glad to hear that Martin and his passenger are ok.... Sorry to hear about the zed, but metal can be replaced. Lives can not. Wet icy roads are always dangerous, and this shows how easily someone can get into grief...:(

    Damn, that's nasty!

Glad to hear both of you are OK with no major injuries, glad that the rollbar did do it's pre-scribed job and kept you both alive.

All the best with the recovery Martin and also with finding a new Z....RIP Martini_Z :(

Also many kudos to all those involved that obviously did a great job during the aftermath in a tough highly stressful situation.

All I can say is I myself am so lucky that I wasn't injured in anyway apart from a tiny cut on my hand and I am very glad to hear the news that Martins out of hospital and all ok. Secondly I am more than lucky for the fact that Martin's Zed had a Roll Cage if it wasn't for that my day/ life may have been a whole lot worse, And I thank martin for having the common sense to getting it fitted whenever he did and putting safety his passengers and himself first.

The crash was exactly what everyone has said just coming down the hill lost a bit of traction coming out of a corner and tryed to correct right then left then right then the car just aimed straight for the embankment and then it just went straight up it and rolled, felt like it rolled about 5 times when we were in there but it was only once or twice i can't remember exactly what the others said.
after the crash i was just shaken and looked over at martin and saw the roof collapsed in and could see he was moving which was a huge relief. the next thing ALL the other came rushing to our aid.. Thanks guys

I agree completely with what ellie said it doesn't matter how experienced as a driver you are, how well set up your car is or how slow you are going.. there is ALWAYS a chance something can go wrong.

Also on a completely seperate situation I originally was goin up in my zed.. hence why i was a passenger but my zed decided to snap a pulley on the way to meeting the geelong crew 1km before the zedshed and hence timing belt slipped after a 3-4month rebuild of the bottom end so it will be back in the shop getting the heads done  ... this really made me think about how much 1 thing leads to other changes in your life what would've hapened if I was driving could it have been me..

Also i did manage to get some pic's throughout the day but I didn't take any of the crash

glad your all ok, interesting seeing the pictures of the car precrash in the snow, and then the after crash photo only a few hours later, incredible the amount of damage it took..........

weve had a fire in a exhaust system on a WA cruise, and a guy plough sideways into some trees a few years ago, sadly it happens, one of those things..........good to see you "getting back on the horse" and looking for a new car straight away, that takes guts.........

all the best, and safe and happy cruising from now on!

glad to hear you guys are ok :D.
i was scared for the worst when i saw the zed :(. i think we should have a roll cage such a life saver, as from the picture we can see how easily a roof/car can be crumbled
but like everyone else has said better the zed than your life gone.

Was an awesome cruise non the less great turn out great bunch of guys. thanks for coming all. good to meet some faces from the club. hope we can see some pics soon mine came out shit lol.

As a passenger in the car behind, it was the scariest thing I've ever seen. I was so glad to see both Martin and Xavier walk away. I know it sucks to have damaged a car but its just that, a car!

Martin, please thank Nicole for letting Bry and I know that you got home safely. make sure you do what the Dr tells you to do to ensure a speedy recovery :)

Glad your on the mend Martin. I really thought you where in a lot of trouble mate. The drive down the mountain to get phone reception felt like it took forever . A lesson to learn is that 112 really does work as i had no reception on my phone but as i got closer to Warburton it got me thru to the ambulance service. The drive back up was very scary as i didn't exspect you to be as well as you where. ( sitting up talking ) dam you must have a bloody hard head. The police and ambulance arrived very quickly considering the remote location and worked well together. In all it was a long day and i won't forget in a hurry looking at your car and trying to workout what the hell had just transpired then the shear panick i felt as i got closer only to find you looking like you had gone 10 rounds with mike tyson. You really are a very lucky bloke and it probably wouldn't hurt to get a tatts ticket . As others have said speed was not a factor it was just one of those things. If you need a hand putting another car together give us p.m and i will be glad to lend a hand.
    Take it easy and relax.
    Dave
