Slight correction.... Turbolight oil is NOT full synthetic, it is a synthetic blend. It is good stuff (I use it) but I thought people should be made aware of the fact. Good initiative on your part ZeDHeD, but unless that place is just around the corner it just wouldn't be worth the trouble.
actually, I think that's due to motul's ratings being based on european standards so they don't advertise the 4100 as a full synthetic. if you use API (american petrolium industry) standards, it IS considered a full synthetic since the american standards are more lax.
If the rep is intersted in bring the deal to canberra.... i would be intereted. I used the 4100 in my laser and my 300 fkn awsome stuff.
Some answers..... *The info posted up at the start of this thread came directly from Athid, the Motul Rep!......so if he is stating 4100 turbolight as 'full synthetic' then i would hope he knows his stuff! *At this stage the GB is only for local Vic members due to the pay/pickup arrangement & the fact that Athid is a local rep not national!....so sorry to all the interstate members! * I agree the pick up location somewhat negates the savings on the deal? I tried to negotiate a bigger discount with Athid but unfortunately at this stage his offer is as described! * Buying by the drum was not discussed in my talks with Athid........so I will need him to respond to this one??
I believe there are certain rules about what an oil needs to be to be called 'fully synthetic' and as such 'fully synthetic' (such as the 4100) and '100% synthetic' such as the 300V are quite different. If you could get back to us on pricing for drums that would be great. Thanks Russ.
No reply from Athid yet? Sorry guys & gals.........looks like Athid has not been able to check this thread yet while he is away overseas?? But from the lack of interest in what he is able to offer it looks like this GB will be a bit of a fizzer anyway!
hey guys sorry for the late reply as mentioned i have been away to answer questions yes turbo light is classed as a "fully synthetic" actually is a group 4 oil and contains 75% synthetics question about drums they can not be purchased unless you go to a retailer atm we have a price review and i will repost the group buy with better pricing at the end of the month cheers athid
