Hey Guys, After speaking with Brownie I decided to do a proper tech day proposal. What we need: People to help out with doing a Manual Conversion for Brownie, and a drivetrain (engine to diff) install for me. Where: It will be held at 612 Autoworks in Ferntree Gulley (Eastern Suburbs) These guys will be renting out a spot in their shop, along with a car hoist, engine hoist, tools, presses, most of everything we need. Why you should come: We need your help! There will be bbq, if we can't get it into the shop there will at least be food (pizza, fast food, all the healthy stoof) Also there will be photos, and drinks, and you will receive our everlasting thanks . When: It has to be over the weekend, and Saturday the 16th of Feb is looking the best at the moment due to work constraints and how long it will take for the parts we have bought to reach us, however this is obviously flexible depending on the amount of people coming. Pm me for any other details you would like to know. Cheers, Aidan
i may be available that day i'm still learning about the Z and i'm planing a manual conversion myself so i'd like to find out whats what
What's brownie? Hope you're not talking about me. I'm in, Saturday should be perfect for me. I'll be literally no help whatsoever, but I can't resist a bunch of Zedders gathering nearby. Might even learn a thang or two.
Lmaooo Scott I'm more brownie than you would ever be Aidan is talking about a fellow zedder whose forum name is brownie...not sure what his real name is Abraham
Put me down as a maybe for now. should be right to come down and have a look , show my Zed off as well:zlove: and i'll bring my Conzult down just incase anyone needs me to run a scan.
I loathed to say yes, as every time I do I curse my self. So not with standing my bad luck I'll come along too. Peter, we should have a little chat too that day. Picking up the 9" grinder and tig welder this weekend.
Do you have some of those stairway barriers to stop babies falling down stairs? maybe with some modifications they could do the trick...
Hey guys, due to time constraints for both Nathan (Brownie) and I, we are moving it to the 23/02 (Sat) basically next week, this should give everyone a bit more time to get work off/get the day free. Would also like to hear from anyone if they want anything brought/done on the day in terms of photos/food/car stuff/etc. Also, if anyone with a significant amount of experience comes along even to just tell us what to do (ie tektrader or one of the more zed-knowledge-able members) I am willing to pay for their time. Cheers.
Well being that Brown is my surname....I dunno. Different levels of Brown. Maybe we're related, me and this Brownie. :O Puuuuuumped
ill give you guys a hand, so just a manual conversion nothing els you need done?? id take full advantage of this situation and get plenum pulls ect all done while your there. also can some1 test out my TT auto ECU on there car to see if it works????
There is also going to be my drivetrain install. In depth, there will be an engine, gearbox, driveshaft, ecu, and a separated subframe and diff to install. (So I'll be attempting to remove the subframe which is TT and re-installing an NA one with an aftermarket diff) And if a TT auto ECU works with an NA Manual we could try mine as a test bed . I'll probably just be changing belts, as we only have one day where we can have everyone at once, plenum pulls may take too long unless we have an experienced person with all the parts to do it on the side.
That reminds me, I'm best man at another wedding on the 23rd. I think I know a few more people getting married that weekend too, something about it
