Today was the annual vic GOR cruise. Not GOR as in gore, but rather the Great Ocean Road cruise. And I guess it wasnt really annual as it should have been in november last year, but we cant let technicalities ruin a good story.

Anyway, meeting point was the usual shell servo on Todd road just before the westage bridge

"hmmm, do I eat my donut, or toss it at cols car?"

    Lazy zed parking..:)

    and so we set off.....

With the fear of hidden speed cameras all the way to geelong, everyone was well behaved on the roads....

    Seads car...

    The Blipman mobile..

Col, I cant see any hands on the steering wheel..

We briefly stopped in Geelong to pick up Grant (DSCM)...

Doug trying to stop traffic..... maybe it should have been called the GORE cruise..:LOL:

Ok, so lets go over the switches starting from left to right: Switch 1 - Fire laser turrets at slow busses and vans on GOR who refuse to pull over.. Switch 2 - release oil slick to cause havoc in traffic behind..

Our next stop was Torquay where we met up with Datzboy and Vince...

    some sexy arses...

We got to Apollo Bay and stretched our legs...

While at Apollo Bay we had some drags..... but of the electric kind..:) Rob, Col and Mick had their little toys and boy do they go damned fast....

    Some good ol circle work...

From Apollo bay we headed to Lavers Hill.... possibly the best stretch of the cruise as traffic was minimal and the roads nice and twisty..:) Once we got there, we took over the car park of the sole food/rest stop...

    Lazy parking again...:)

All in all a fantastic day.... the best thing about the GOR is that you can still have fun without breaking the speed limit..:) Thanks to Col for the organisation and thanks to everyone else who made it a great day..:)

    Cheers

    Some more pics

Mark and I have very similar ideas of what constitutes a good photo-op, so I'll only put up ones substantially different from his.

    Nice colour

A lot of the time we were able to hoon along at up to 50kph below the speed limit. No chance of filling VicGov coffers this day!

    Welcome to sunny Apollo Bay

Funny enough, 2-3km inland it was as clear as a bell... just coastal cloud!

One last thing... low fuel light at Torquay on the way back to Melb, so I filled at the local BP (Ultimate, of course). Must be something about country fuel, 'cause the poor old girl pinged her tits off all the way home, and has been running poorly ever since. Bottle of octane booster into the tank, I think! And a puddle of P/S fluid at Lavers Hill suggests a leak detection and repair is on the cards.

    Big thanks Col, lottsa fun.

Last Photo... Traffic was like that all the way from Geelong to Melb

    on the way home.
Re number plates on vids... just shake the camera and the plates will blur nicely.

Great photos, especially the one of Angus!

Was good to have you both on your first cruise.

EDIT: Don't worry about blurring the video. I'm sure no-one minds their number plates being shown, given that a) we were all very well behaved, and b) the plates in Jedi's pics aren't blurred.

Just post the vids! I hope someone has video of the remote control cars...

Re: Great photos, especially the one of Angus!

Thanks guys we really enjoyed it, cant wait to do it again! About the vids, I think they shake enough as they are :p I'll quickly upload my vid of the remote cars now (I took a short vid with my still camera) the camcorder footage is burnt to DVD but my PC is having a hissy fit and wont convert properly for the net...I'll try again tomorrow

We took over 390 photos a dozen short videos clips on the DSC and around an hour with the camcorder, a lot look similar, so those were the best. If someone wants pics I can see if i have more of their Z. Just PM me ;)

RedZedMikey RZM should now be DZM

Jedi, I should have known better .....

I can't see your pics on my home PC, so when I saw the comment "some sexy arses", I made a point of checking the post at work! Bikini girls .... NOT!!!

Anyway although I couldn't make the cruise, after returning from the airport and fitting my goodies in the evening, I can say that Jack's and my arses should be very comfortable during the Rally Masters this weekend :thumbsup::thumbsup:.
