The front diff in a GTR is within the sump of the engine, very difficult to get it to run with a different engine.

I'm not in any particular camp in the RB/VG debate, both are great engine and have their pro's and con's. I think the VH is better :p

Yes there are probably better examples for GTR's than these, but still.

I reckon that the best thing about any skyline is the attessa system
    hands down

    it's not the RB26dett
    i'd rather have the vg30dett

You cant read my "tone' because there isnt/wasnt one.
I dont sit on any "side" of a fence. I happen to admire both particular engines greatly.

Oh, I see, just because Nissan made them around the same time and happened to fit them to "performance" cars, that makes it all better does it??

Well, you better include an SR20det then. Thats also made by Nissan (around the same time), has pistons and multivalve heads, is fitted to "perfomance" cars and your funky mathematical equasion can compensate for its lack of 2 extra cylinders surely!!!!!!!!
Hell, why not add an FJ20et for that matter. A little older sure, but still its comparable easily just by adding some equaliser numbers!!!
All that physics looks wonderful on paper eh??!!!!! You could make anything compare on paper!

Come on ladies, your comparing apples to oranges.

Ill say it again, slowly, fit an RB26dett head to an RB30 block, add identical setup and tune and then do a meaningful comparo.
2 x 3000cc, 6 cylinder double cam, 4 valve per cylinder engines of differing primary configuration.

Any funky equalisation mathematics is just smoke and mirrors.

Until then the similarities end with the number of cylinders and the manufacturers name stamped on the rocker box!!!:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Yeah the rb30 combo is rather nice. They seem to be really strong.

its a straight comparison between 2 engines . yes the vg is bigger but thats just how it is ,this isnt a hp per litre competition. you can say make a rb3o 26 but where does it end you can mod any engine to almost any level you want . on a slightley different thing i was looking at what power non turbo rb3o 26s make for a p plater mate who wants something fast when my smart arse skyline lover mates go " why dont you just put a zed motor in it" sarcastically . well they were rite , all that stuffing around they do to make the na rb3o 26 and thy were making about the same power as a na zed .probably best off just buying a zed then
