    Good day peeps,

I am mike currently living in Jamaica, its my first time posting here and I am looking forward to being a part of the community.
I have a Vg30det in my 1993 Nissan hardbody, needing some help though.

    1. I am currently running the vg30dett ecu on the engine, wanted to know the possible side effects of this.
    2. I have heard of removing the butterfly from the plenum, I am asking if anyone has any instructions to assist with this mod or instructions on gutting plenum
3 Does anyone have a diagram showing the routing for the vacuum lines?

    Thanks in advance

VG30DET vacuum lines would run a bit different to VG30DE and DETT since the intake is different.
You would need to find FSM(Factory Service Manual) diagrams relating to one of the following cars (mentioned in wikipedia) that use VG30DET. Nissan Cedric Y32 (1991–1994), Nissan Gloria, Nissan Cima FY31, FY32 (1988–1995) or Nissan Leopard.

Removing butterfly? if you mean in changing throttle bodies to a larger ones. Normally requires an adapter and grinding material of the orifice to match bigger throttle body.
Gutting Plenum, I personally only heard of with doing it to VG30ET ones.

Thanks and what of using the vg30dett ecu on vg30det, what are the side effects?

thanks, I also want to know what are the implications of running the vg30det with a tt ecu. I have been doing it for a while now on just 5 pounds of boost and thinking of putting it to 10 psi, but want to know if it may have any negative side effects.

While they're similar engines, they aren't quite the same and while someone may have done it before you're probably not going to find much info documenting it (if any). The only way you could safely increase the boost would be to put it on a dyno and monitor afr's and knock. Why not just run the factory DET ECU instead?

A quick google search found this which may be some help, though it appears there were some variances between vehicles/years though might be a starting point at least: https://www.megazip.net/zapchasti-d...88/y32-6161/py32-622602/vacuum-piping-7857612

Regarding the butterfly inside the intake manifold, removing this will likely affect low end torque. For higher boost applications it would make sense but unless it isn't currently working (not sure if they are controlled by the ECU or not on a DET). You probably won't find any instructions here as the Z31/32 never ran the single turbo DE.

@NI85 a few of the VG's (and a number of other engines) have an internal valve/s that opens up and bypasses part of the intake manifold. You want longer runners for low end torque and minimal restriction for top end power (as an oversimplified explanation).

Thanks ryzan, I recall the maxima having variable intake. Those of Z31 community wondered why the sedan got it and the 300zx didn't get it, since it's a sporty gt of it's day.
