After seeing after market seats nailed into our cars, I've come to the conclusion that the best option is to keep the stock seats, velour being my favorite and of course both seats electric. Some of the horrible after market rubbish reminds me of ET's head, you know the ones.
I had full tweed. Ripped it all out and converted it to thick dark velour found at a local material wholesaler. Factory velour however is excellent and sexy time, I'd choose that over any of the other stock materials.
I'd have to say leather for the win. Those long trips from Melbourne to Sydney seemed seamless! You just need to care and cater for the leather to be good (shampoo and condition it once a month) or else it'll go all hard, crack and become dirty looking. First week I had my Z, I ripped those ugly tweed seats out complaints from the gf at the time as the leather 'felt colder' in winter in comparison to the warm tweed. However, saying that, Deans recaros were just so pleasant!
don't worry too much ... there is much more to come when i can be bothered. the topic is materials NOT seat types ... there is a difference. have a look at the "banter" wiped out/let run recently .... all way too selective when Mods are involved even to the point of opening a closed thread for a smart arse comment.
Baz the thread started with the question apon which year builds did velour come out in zeds, and also how he loves the new look. It was answered, and then we continued on the topic of what type we love. All seems on topic to me
yes, as I stated, there will be more to come when i can be bothered ... it is not MY attitude that requires attention nor in anyway affects the so called health of this Forum. there is nothing wrong with bringing to notice a long line of off topic chat and banter to attention .. particularly when in the recent past this exact issue has been whacked where Mods were not involved. Check out ....www.comparethemeerkat.com ... simples !!!!
haha Eric, the Recaro SR3s were like lounge chairs for me! I still had wriggle room in them. The Brides I have now are so tight you'd mistaken them for virgins
I'm the same build as Mike, and the bride's are rediculous for a street car. Toight! Make the evo recaros feel very roomy.
I have Bride Gias's in my N/A daily... Best/worst idea I've ever had. So god damn comfy, but getting in, and out of the car is ridiculous. Wish I got OEM recaros after sitting in Deans.
yep, we're skinny kents. it's a work out to get in out of them. still, i loved it enough to get one for the MX5 too. only drivers side this time, not silly enough to do passenger side, girls all complain it's hard to get out and most of your fat mates don't fit.
Don't know if you guys have noticed, but since this thread there has been leather seats up for sale and now bride's lmao seee all swapping to Velour!
Having spent time in 3 generations of Z (240z,280zx and 300z) I actually think they have all had great seats that were comfy and at least on par if not better than the most anything else of their respective time and often for a good period after. The 280ZX however was a real recliner style seat (not a snug fit at all) to sit in but still damn comfy for my backside
Yep... Grandpa spec for me . I love the velour seats/interior in my Zed. And having the extra passenger electric seat is a bonus .
And yours are mint too Mark! I didn't realise how light in colour mine where until I saw yours haha Velour seats FTW! I'm happy to be grandpa spec :zlove:
Everyone keeps going on about passenger power electric seats....are they rare or something? Anyone want to buy some?
