    Thoughts on new sellers...

If you're a new member to this site and you're trying to sell items I suggest you post out items first, recieve payment later.

Too many members have been ripped off from new members selling items and not coming through. Trust is a big issue in regards with new members.

So unless you're a trusted seller and long time member who we all know, and who we've all bought from with no problems, prepare to make a sacrifice in order to gain trust...especially with large expensive items.

This is what I think should be done in the future. Otherwise, buyer beware.

    Cheers
    Rob.

even if this were the gold at the end of the rainbow.. your wasting your time trying to paint a kit before fitting.. all kits regardless of cost require some minor work to get em to fit.. our cars are getting old and are no doubt slightly out of shape.. plus.. paint thats 15 yrs old will not match paint codes.. hell ive had paint mixed 3 weeks apart and because the paint shop had a new tin of yellow pigment delivered in between.. the paint was different.. most people couldnt tel.. but it annoyed the hell out of me..

plus as fibreZ said.. the paint finish and colour depends entirely on angle/pressure/thinning/thickness of the paint. a good painter will spend some time trying to colour match properly

i agree with andrew agreeing with my haha...

when zeds were painted in japan they were all painted by hand in lines and lines of spray booths... when you paint acrilic you must get the colour perfect right off the gun... you can have you gun at a higher pressure and stand further away you'll get a lighter shade then the other way, (think its that order) butyou get the idea... 2 pac was designed as its a much better easier paint to work with..(as well as many other reasons)

plus if you transport painted bars and they warp much in transport depending on the quality of the paint it will crack with the fibreglass, thus need to re paint anyway....

We'll do a test next week when we have scottys car, we both have the same midnight blue colour and we'll take a photo for you 10 to 1 says they are differnt... same as when i resprayed mine 3 weeks ago we had to do the whole car as the original was a darker shade of blue (ours was alot nicer more metallic lol)

just a word of warning when buying painted gear for 16 year old cars.....

Might have an idea on making sure these sort of GB's stay legit...

Now i understand that a person organising a group buy would be keen at all for a "send off now, pay later setup" because that way a member could quite easily decide not to pay after recieving the goods.
So... Is there a chance that maybe we could set something up so that buyers send money to a long time trusted "intermediate" member such as one of the site administrators before recieval of goods, then once all buyers have recieved their goods and are satisfied, they can inform the "intermediate" and the intermediate can then forward on the payments to the seller.
This way both the seller and buyer can be sure of a trust worthy transaction.
If the seller does not agree then, i would say they are not legit.
only question is... is one of the site administrators willing to do somthing like this??

well if the seller is in austalia, like a 90% chance a member on the forum lives nearby, or within a hours drive, would easily be able to go a check out the product, even if said member isnt knowledgable could take photos and note comments to post to everyone else.

I live extremely close to a suburb called Blackbutt, if it's the same one as the seller I don't know, but dosent' matter by the looks of it anyway, he hasen't been around here for a while. It's a shame, I was very interested in the possibility. Now I spoze there is no other choice but to go WIDE! hehehe
