Replace the M/Cyl. There should be no fluid between the two at all...

You under the same assumption as me, thinking the cup seal has perished enough to make it fold back on itself? Not pressuring the system properly...?

parker Been around for a bit

    Mine did a similar thing

but it was with the stock setup. It blew the seals in the master and and was dripping only when clutch was applied. it would then sneekily run down the firewall and onto the chassis rail where there was a hole that it went into.

Found it by pumping the pedal until the res was dry. I then jacked the car from the front and hey presto..fluid started to run out of a drain hole in the chassis.

Now thats definitely something the Japanese would have theorized about for some time before putting it to practice. Fluid dynamics of the Ninja.

what about the booster in the under the drivers side gaurd, have you checked there as well?

another thought, i high pressure pinhole leak causing a "squirt" of fluid onto the road or something similar would be hard to trace, and the pressure would only be created on depressing the clutch....

i had the same problem, i couldnt find a leak anywhere and i ended up replacing the stock set up with a 1 peice braided clutchline and new slave yet i was still emptying the system sitting for 8 hours looked at my firewall couldnt find anything inside or out but notice 2 weeks later little wet patches back towards the seat and they keep getting bigger and it was my master leaking yet i couldnt work out how the fluid got down near the seat without leaving a trail anyways im fixxing it saturday arvo

Could be leaking between the rubber and the braid, as you said, the Clutch MC hold barely any fluid.

Also it could be on the exhaust and burning off. Thats where mine went.

Thanks for all the input guys, it seems several people have had similar experiences.

I will be changing to a new M/Cyl, Braided line and Slave Cyl(if it still has a problem after that, a box of matches will be next on the shopping list).

just a thought, i cant remember your car too well chili, but if its a 2 seater could it possibly be leaking from the ABS part behind the driver seat?

    Ahhhhhhhhh

    Now there's a thought
Could be another part of the system to check

    Benny_C About as subtle as...

My AUD$0.02 is on you have a buggered seal in the master cylinder and it's leaking fluid back into the booster housing, slowly filling it up with fluid bit by bit. I haven't read every post here, but have you tried removing your master cylinder and also booster unit for inspection yet? Either way, you might have to either replace the cylinder or re-sleave it to prevent further leakage (wherever it may be coming from).
Hopefully you get to the bottom of this mystery quickly though mate, as i know exactly how frustrating it is not being able to drive the Zed of late... :zlove:

When does a clutch have an ABS system?

    I'd recommend a Ruger P45.

Also, I've just got a suspected clutch fluid leak in my Aus spec with no obvious culprit so when I find it I'll let you know, may be of some assistance. My clutch works fine 90% of the time, every now and then when I press the pedal down it stays down but the clutch has re-engaged and pressing it down any more does nothing. When I flick it back up again with my toe it works fine again. This tends to happen half a dozen time s in a row then it's fine for the rest of the drive.

Assuming some kind of leak in the master cylinder but there is no obvious fluid anywhere around it. I'll have a proper look over the weekend and report back.
