if we have more interest than 6 people then a part 2 group buy will be created for the next 6 and so forth...

I am the one arranging this GB - if it goes ahead.
$20.00 is the same price as organised in a GB a few years ago, and Valvoline's price to me has not changed. There is no profit in this for myself or Chad.

I went to my local Supacheap this morning and Valvoline VF19 fuel filters were $27.99 each. If they are genuinely $18 over there for the same filter, good luck to you. If not, a correction and apology would be appreciated.

27.99 for a fuel filter thats nasty. you eastern staters are getting ripped. i dont think a apology is in order. just stating the prices we get them here in WA

Interested, but by the time I get it shipped up here it'll be the same price as the shops...

Savings negated by postage - this is true.
This is one reason why I haven't continued offering these as a GB, the other is my minimum buy quantity and the relative lack of demand. Mostly Victorians that benefit from my Valvoline GB's for oil and oil filters, though sometimes I stock up for when I go interstate.

Has anyone in WA actually been to a Supacheap or similar and verified their price for a Valvoline VF19 fuel filter? If I go to Valvoline to query their price to me and severely embarrass myself with this "$18.00" claim I am going to be mightily pissed off.

I'll ring them today and let you know. At the moment it's only 7:30AM here so can't ring them yet.

    Cheers,
    Evan.

I rang 2 supacheaps in Perth. They both said that their price is $28. They also said that I may be able to get a better price on their 20% off days but this still only takes the price to approx $23.

    Regards,
    Evan.

Thanks Evan - what I expected. Matches the Supacheap price here in Vic, and they are a national chain.

    Chad,
I have tried running fuel filters as a GB with the oil and oil filters, and the response made it not worth while. I would recommend killing off this GB unless there is a sudden influx of locals wanting to save a bit of money. I will still have Synpower 10W/50 full synth and VO4 oil filters available for as long as I can.

    Cheers, Mikey.
