Hey guys, had my car for about 6 months now. I have read HEAPS of other posts through the search function about white smoke.

Even since i bought it, it has blown smoke at idle after the engine warms up.

I'm pretty sure its burning oil, smells really bad and their is farily large amounts of smoke coming out.

I think the car hits boost, but not as hard as it should. Its much weaker up high in the revs then down low.

    *** Things i found
if im stopped at the lights, it will start blowing smoke, BUT, if i slightly press the accellorator, and keep the revs above 1000, then the smoke will stop. Wieard huh.

There is no smoke AT ALL when im gunning it or when im in gear and slowing down or anything like that. Only at idle.

I'm not made of money, so i hoping its the vale stem seals, i tried changing to a really thick oil ... it still blows the same amount of smoke.

I just purchased the group buy o2 sensors as im running extreamily rich, hopeing that this may fix the smoke prob, but i doubt it.

I was thinking about getting the idle put up to just over a grand ... the smoke is really embarrasing. I need a quick fix!!!!

If its the turbo;s then, hey, i know i have to spend the big bux.

IF you know what your on about, PLEASE help me :(

Get zed4life to look at your car with respect to it running rich. It may not be your 02 sensors and you could be wasting your money.

The smoke could be unburnt fuel unless it's really white.

is yours just out one exhaust?

or both cos i have the same prob, but it's only out the passenger side exhaust, i know my problm isn't my turbos as they were checked out last week. mine does give out a bit of dark grey smoke with wide open throttle, but when at idle for more than about 30 secs at times it will start smoking and am running 20w 50 oil

    Hey

    Just an update.

Been to Zed4life (thanks heaps mate) Been told to get o2's done and get back to him.

Also got a few other things fixed.

Hopfully the 02's will fix the prob.

Will keep everyone up dated, as alot of others have the same prob i hear.

Yianni, as discussed, the 02's are a cheap fix compared

to turbo seals/valves etc. I'm certain they are causing a significant percentage of your smoke as the left one is completely dead (remember the AF ratio actually leaned slightly with it disconnected!) and the right is really not much better which means they aren't giving the ECU the corrective feedback it needs to lean/richen the mixture as required.

Replacing them should reduce the smoke IMO but you still may blow some...Have you replaced the suspect factory recirc valves yet?

PS: Sorry to hear the thicker oil didn't help...
