Ok, long story short:Yesterday - power steering belt popped off, decided to buy a new one.Got new belt today, fitting it at my workplace in the warehouse, easier to see with all those lights... however, I can't get the belt on and I can't figure out which bolt is used for tension.. can anyone just help me out with this so i can slip the belt on??Thanks Guys. >D< :-Z
there is a screw in front of the pulley that needs to be loosened in order to allow the pump to pivot. Its a 12mm size i think on the RHS of the pump facing the front of it. You have to get to it via one of the holes cut in the pulley. The next step is to loosen the tension screw on the RHS of the pump on its side. Then pivot the pump to create some slack on the belt so it can pop out from the pulley.Hope this helps.Peter
PS belt sucks balls the rest are easy, this bastard is always hard. See the underdrive pulley install tech on this site or the one on twinturbo.net for the procedure, the rest is levering, trying, and frustration. A few times (since I had the crank pulley off anyway) I resorted to getting the belt on the two pulleys with the crank pulley off (so you can hold it where ever you want and then with the belts on the whole time you push the crank pulley back on.Ben
Yeah. I figured that one, lol > ended up going home last night, it was too hard to do with the Z toolkit, and all my tools were at home. Got all my tools here at work today, so I'll give it a burl later on... At least here at work I have all the light I need, for as long as it's needed, hehe...Thanks for your help =) :-Z
