guys need urgent help!!! please! the problem is i'm just cruising, steady at a speed, and all of a sudden my accelerator doesn't accelerate. I have to gear down for it to re engage if you could say and then accelerate. what could be the problem? i was thinking maybe TPS or MAF
i had a similar issue so its worth checking if its the same for you.... the accelerator would press down but there would be no change to the car and in some cased the car would continue at the same speed even when I took my foot off the pedal. it turned out that the vent pipe at the top of the tappet cover was loose and would push out under certain conditions, when this coincided with the accelerator linkage in a participial position it would press against it and stop it from changing position... it was difficult to find the problem and I only noticed because there was a small amount of scratching on the side of the pipe... so I pulled at it and it came out without too much force.
