So here's the deal: Recently changed leaking heater core. Along the way, cleaning out every pipe, every panel, disassembled heater box (what a pain!) and refoamed all the doors. Putting everything back together (STUPIDLY put all the air con pipes back in and support brace and THEN decided to check if it all worked. WHAT DOESN'T WORK? Well, with ignition ON (click before cranking it over, don't want to start it with no coolant pipes on yet!) the servos for the doors in the heater box don't activate. It's been a while since I drove my car, so I can't remember if this is normal with the car not running. Say I switch between the front demist and auto. No doors change position, servos don't move at all from what i can see and hear. The fan speed increases but keeps coming out the front and bottom tubes as these passages are open. Everything seems to be firmly plugged in, including cords to the servos. The only thing not right at the moment is that i'm not turning the car ON and I got frustrated when pulling the dash and cut the sun temp sensor on the top of the dash Will this effect the demist function at all?
All figured out. Did the aircon diagnostics...a lot of the tests were not so helpful as the engine was off, but the actuator ones were. The issue? I didn't have the plug pushed in hard enough :banned: But sussed out the diagnostic and all is well, it picked up the 'disconnected' sunload sensor (that will be REconnected soon) and also one of the floor vents that I had unplugged. The drivers side actuator that was working fine and air was being directed as it should. Glad I cleaned out the pipes and the blower box now! Smells good as new, and that fan now has a whole bunch more kick to it. Thank christ is all seems to be working though, I was in a panic that I'd have to pull the whole damn thing to bits again.
