upgrade to gt28 turbo

hey all, have just taken the engine out to do the heads.

was going to upgrade the turbos aswell, realise i have to do other things aswell as the turbo, and i will... just wondering if u purchase dump pipes for the gt28, the 5 bolt ones, will the connect nicely to the exhaust or will the exhaust need modifications.

Please let me know if uve upgraded to these turbos, or if u know if it will fit, as i havent purchased the turbos or the dump pipes yet.

Depends what is your current setup. You need new manifolds, new dumps and test pipes with GT28 or GT28RS. Do a search. Stock exhuast will not fit with 5 bolt dumps.

 

You dont have to have new manifolds. The old one's will do fine.

 

I have ams manis and 5 bolt dumps, my old exhaust bolted up fine ??

They were hard to install though, had to modify a spanner

...typical 300zx workings... we need a specific tool set made just for the Z...

 

there were over 20 modifications to be done =/ still haven't got my oil pressure sender on yet

 

so long as it lines up to your old exhaust you'll be fine, just cut off the old 4 bolt flange and fit a 5 bolt one
