ok i've got about 4 more weeks until i leave for LA for my 3 week holidays. i've spent last night and i was just short on budget, needed about US10,000 to be able to get all rebuild/turbo kits and various other parts to fulfill my initial upgrade plan :(

anyway i can reach this but i dont want to be broke and do nothing while im there since i'll be going to vegas and florida so i thought a more sensible and needed upgrade is the way to go.

    what ive got in mind:

    - clutch + flywheel
    - turbo kit ( GT600R Turbo Kit ) + 5bolt dump pipes
    - ecu upgrade (JWT or jim wolfe)
    - 555cc injector kit
    - various OEM parts

do i have enough all-over coverage here for an initial upgrade? i've already got some TIEN adjustables, dba rotors, and rear adjustable arms.

thanks all, need all your expertise!

edit: i've also got a set of trust SMIC's waiting.

Suggestion: stick $5 grand on the craps table while you're in Vegas. Win big and do whatever upgrade you want.:D:D:p

yeah i want but don't want to blow that much into my holiday budget at the moment :( i need something that will be accomodate to a nice engine in the near future.

the reason i wanted to go turbo path is that my turbos are on their way out :( leaking oil.

hey Baron, bought the smic's ages ago from a fellow member, they are pretty much these ones:

Don't they look good. I'm more interested in side mounts to keep the distance travelled (intake length) to a minimum

    serious suggestions

okay well here is what i think, i reckon buy the turbo kit however dont buy the dumps you can get them cheaper here in oz from tektrader, same with the injectors get the sard 650cc ones from japan and collars from tektrader or buy them from US if similar priced. dont bother with the ecu i would buy a local product as when it comes time to tune you will be able to find someone to do this. clutch and flywheel are heavy (even though much lighter than stock) but if you get a good price for one then okay. i may also look into geting some cams jwt / jun if you where planning on going down that road they arent really available here so you save big on shipping and taxes. depends on how far you wanna go but things like eagle rods are quite cheap (but depends if you are going to upgrade internals) then things like all your 100km service kit, head gasket they may be worth buying over there. my suggestion is write out you whole plan for your car then spend 4 weeks comparing prices here and over there and work out what is worth buying.

    do what i'm doing

go to the GB forums, and get in on the GT600R turbo kit group buy ($3250)
get tektraders dumps and his sard collars ($650+$120)
get the sards from greenline ($650)
get egg's manifolds (this might be ready a bit late for the project tho...) ($650)
get a custom stainless exhaust with hi-flow cats ($2000)
once all that is done, get your car socketed and tuned ($600)
get some 9.5inch rims on the rear with 275mm rubber for traction

and all that is probly about $8k AuD + "cost of rims and rubber"
and that is "Operation Perfomance" completed

then you begin "Operation Bling" which is the next mission
get into the carputer GB that i'm running so you can have GPS, datascan, dvd's, mp3's, etc all on your dash (about $1200)
get some side sills (the indiglo ones) (something like $300)
get a nice body kit if you don't already have one
get a good paint job (take a guess - $X500)
get into the leather seats sale being run by Coyote in the "for sale" section ($400)

dam where did i go wrong - i lost the plot somewhere... i bought this car cos it was cheap bang for buck :-(
