Hi all, Just a quick question as I couldn't seem to find the answer in the tech section. What is the negative & positive between the Underdrive v Unorthodox pullys? Cheers Grahame.
Underdrive pulley refers to a crank pulley with no harmonic balancer and a smaller OD than stock. Unorthodox Racing are a manufacturer of pulleys.
Yeh thanks Rob, Ha Ha! I had a feeling I should have been more specific as I know Unorthodox Racing are a manufacturer. What I was trying to ascertain was the difference & what separates them in quality of product compared to other manufacturers given that they are supposedly, according to them, using the same CNC Machined 6061-T6 aluminium grade material in their product as the higher priced product of known manufacturers. I know you get what you pay for but that is not always the case. Chinese products for e.g. cost far less to manufacture because of reduced labour cost. There engineering skills are now far superior than they were years ago & as such are just as good now as anywhere therefore should not be dismissed as inferior just because they are produced cheaper. Having said all that I'd be interested to see who else beside Unorthodox Racing etc. has a quality product at a reasonable price worthy of considering or recommending? Cheers Grahame.
Balancing and the accuracy of the timing marks are probably the biggest concern. I can seem you an Aussie made GFB pulley for $310. Personally I prefer oem.
