    The box thingy is the muffler and a very important part of the design as it reduces noise and drone.

    Thanks, I will see how my finances are looking nearer the end of the month but I think I might just have to pay full price later on.

    Another quick (and probably n00b), other than appearance, what are the advantages of stainless steel over mild steel for these?

    You pretty much got it in one with appearance. And stainless will last longer.

    Any idea how long a mild steel one would last with 'normal use' and how much longer a stainless one would last? (yeah, I know, 'normal use' coule be almost anything for different people)


    And what sorts of things would alter the lifespan, being near the beach with damp aslty air, stuff like that?

    it was discussed b4 in this post but put it this way anyone that has gone mildsteel havnt had any problems yet......maybe it last 20 years....so in most peoples cases it doesnt matter as they probably keep a zed for max 10 years b4 getting something different....well thats me anyways...

    I'll join with pexzed in recommending it

    for those still deciding. Gives a great tone to the exhaust, fits really nicely and certainly reduces excessive noise at the pipes without costing performance. Here's some pics:
