    Fix'd.
I'd probably put measurable improvements in the latter 2 categories. /math pun.

Say, where did you get those fuel hose tie down clamp brackets from?
Was thinking I might get lucky at a gas supply shop, as they deal a lot with braided gas lines, and likely ways to secure them to appliances, buildings and other stuff without chafing.

Dude lighten up no one has said the bolted braces are better than the welded, he has what he has so why not just use it? chill out, you're taking it the wrong way.

I agree that the welded are probably better but dismissing all bolted braces as junk is a bit much.

the question now is , are the supposed handling benefits worth the
    a) cost,
    b) screwing around to make it fit
    c) reduced durability of fuel lines, bonnet paint etc

Ok you win. In my personal situation the cost was low and the fuel lines needed replacing anyway, also I didn't need to raise my bonnet to make it fit and it doesn't rub at all.

I agree tho unless you have a brand new bonnet and you're fuel lines need replacing then sure a more expensive better brace is better.

I hadn't taken much consideration into anything other than lateral resistance, but I do still think a lot of people with street only zeds would notice a difference. If you're building something that would see track or similar use than sure a welded brace would be best.

N-power isn't the best at anything but there is far worse out there, some ebay braces look like a noodle bolted to the strut towers. :p

    Which way

Mitch, we sold plenty with little problems, they are made in a jig, unless this was a Friday made one. They are a tight fit either very close to the bonnet or the engine. Unless it is a fittment issue as it is or was originally around the wrong way. See pic below. I am happy to refund.

    I appreciate that John, Thanks.
A proper Jig should eliminate human error in manufacturing, so being a 'friday' made one may or may not be the cause. I applaud the R&D that would have went into making this piece given the space and other constraints that play a major issue in its design. It given that it is a well made, and well presented Item :)
My testing found that when installed as per the above pic, the clearance issues were more pronounced.

As for a refund, I appreciate the offer but will try to exhaust a few more alternative options beforehand. I'm in the middle of moving house and will be further from sydney. Thinking out loud, these options may be:
    • Put a few more bends into the rail to make a little more space, next time I have the fuel delivery rail off.
    • File down the plenum attachment lug for the fuel delivery rail to gain more headroom above
    • Re-route the entire fuel delivery rail assembly to fuel hose, and find a suitable attachment method.
    • Remove the hood lining
    • Space up the bonnet with a nylon washer or two

Once again, thanks for your help in this regard, and will keep you informed along the way if further assistance is needed.

Mitch ... i have the same UAS brace as you .... had to remove it after it gouged a sizeable valley in my upper plenum ... it also fouled the bonnet lining.

I rerouted mine by chopping completely of the old solid fuel line and fitted a braided high pressure 250PSI gates hose OK NO RUB PROBLEM NOW.
