I have done a couple, the seat cover is held in place by a lot (a lot) of bent wire rings. Care has to taken when removing these as its easy to damage the seat cover further, I use a good pair of wire snips and cut them all (mark or note where they all were). Replacing the worn panel in the seat is the easy bit. When fitting the repaired seat cover use good quality cable ties instead of the wire rings, this allows the tauntness of the seat cover to be adjusted. Get as many of the cable ties in place as you can before you start tightening then you can get the cover sitting snugly to the contours of the seat/bolsters. Good luck, it takes a bit of time but you will find its worth it.

Would cable ties be enough for Leather / Faux Leather?

Absolutely! Use the smallest size and if the original hole is torn or more likely elongated make another hole closed by. I'll get you the size cable ties I used, they are very strong.

it's like what we said at the tech day greg: all you need to fix a zed is duct tape, cable ties and bog.
