    TWD's are again available @ $60each including postage Australia-wide.:zlove:

    What's it do?
The TWD provides an instant warning via a RED FLASHING LED when engine temperature exceeds 94degreesC. At this temperature the stock Nissan gauge will NOT have moved. Your Nissan gauge will NOT begin to move until engine temps reaches 105C. Even if you notice the gauge creeping up, at 105degrees+ it may be too late. :(

This picture shows the LED mounted discretely within the OEM gauge

Why a TWD instead of an after-market gauge?
Many owners do not want accessories cluttering their dash, the TWD provides a discrete alternative. Furthermore, a driver may be pre-occupied with controlling the vehicle in heavy traffic or twisty roads and not always checking gauges - the TWD LED is an instant visual alert that's virtually impossible to miss.

What's required to install the TWD?
A few basic handyman tools plus a multimeter or 12v test light. No soldering is required and the job takes a little over an hour. See HERE for more detail.

Note: A healthy cooling system is essential for Zed reliability and the TWD provides that extra security in case of system failure.
I've sold well over 100 TWD's since I started building these about 3 years ago and I'm aware of at least 10 Zed's saved from disastrous overheat by the TWD's warning.

    PLEASE PM for payment details.

12 TWD's gone already. This batch is built on special-order PCB's and today I completed testing of the final 18.

USA Members please note: I am keen to offer a TWD for installation and evaluation to anyone keen to promote these in the US.

If anyone has questions please post here, or send a PM.

For those who are installing as well, if you arent comfortable with the military splice style/cutting wires on your ecu..

can i suggest looking at supercrap or the likes for these

Just push over the 2 wires and press the metal tab down....

    easy as pie :D

I tried to do it that way. Did not work - traced it down to poor connection on the yellow/green wire. Could be because the TWD wires are rather thin.

Those connectors are NOT recommended - they are very unreliable on all wire gauges: thin = no connection, or thick = severed wire.

May be a strange question, but is it possible to have this calibrated to light up at slightly lower temp? Like 90c for example?

Or, to take it further, have a "custom" order of two leds one set at 90c the other at 100c?

I realise this would increase the price, but if someone wanted it, could they pay the extra and get it?

Sorry if this is an obvious question, I don't know much about electronics.

those are scotch clips and are a very bad idea, I have done a lot of re-installs and service calls for car electronics fitted using these. They are dodgy and in the unlikely event they work first time they are unlikely to last the distance.

You can buy soldering irons for $15, do it once do it right

Yes TWD's can be calibrated as suggested.
90c is too low unless in a twin LED setup but even then I'd run one at 95c and the other at 100c.

    ok guess not...

looks like ill have to pull it out and solder it...

will the led only flash when all 3 wires are connected?

If you didn't want to solder you could use terminal blocks and maybe proper crimps.

    They DO work

I 'tested' the one in the silver car this morning. I installed one in each car just a week ago.

After a quick stop on my way to work the light started blinking when I took off again. Hmmm, it's not hot, air con is not on. Maybe it's for real.

So I pulled over, opened the bonnet. No signs of leaks, but a faint smell of coolant. I plugged in my laptop and datascan showed me the temp was rising quickly with the engine running. When I got the radiator cap off I could not see any coolant. Repco store 200m away so went and got some coolant and filled it up. It took about 2 litres. When I started it again, it behaved. Temp stayed around 80. I then set off to find the radiator place that used to be nearby but it was gone. I ended up at the gearbox place where we did a pressure test. Leak at the rear of the engine, passenger side, but only when pressurized.

So I filled it up again, left the cap loose to stop any pressure buildup, and set off for the 20k to home. One eye on the laptop on the passenger seat, another eye on the TWD LED and the third eye on the road. Temp never got above 84 - you could measure the hight of the hills on the temp.

I made it home safely and I don't think there is any damage done. Hopefully a loose clamp or something simple - I did a plenum pull and bypass a couple of months ago. Maybe I have to do another one. (Practice makes perfect)

So, there is another one for you Rob.

They DO work If you haven't got one, get one now !
