Hi Guys Have one of the V1 turbotech MBC in the garage, wondering if anyone has used or is using one. I don't want to or need to run various boost settings, would like to set at 20psi and then leave it upto controlling the right foot. Main concern is early gate creep (running gate pressure at the moment 14psi) given it is a ball and spring design would this not cause any gate creep at all? Second concern is boost consistency, if it's set at 20-21 has anyone had boost spikes issues with the turbotech MBC? Thanks Matt
yes... Although I'm using the V2. I have mine set at 14psi. Have had no problems with spikes. The only time I had problems with spikes is when I left my safety boost solenoids connected. Once I disconnected them, the V2 operated perfectly.
No safety solenoids here all the OEM stuff is long gone. Just a boost feed line>boost controller>line to a T peice>equal lengths of hose to wastegates.
Remove safety boost solenoid to use a boost control on a ZX , manual controls bleed of some of the boost flow to atm for them to work . if you can save up and buy a EBC system they work so much better that you won't be sorry. I use a BLIZ control look up on the net and you will see all the things it can do.
The only time I had a problem was when I fitted mine and had the safety boost solenoids connect and got the dreaded boost spike . Wow did my Zed go :br:. Disconnected them and hasn't missed a beat since set on 14 p.s.i. Great product. Dave
on stock gates they are fine aslong as you dissconnect boost solenoids. on aftermarket heavier spring gates like forge they are useless and dont hold boost for snizzle
